I have my flat panel TV mounted over my fireplace so I wanted the cables and electronics out of site to give the room a clean look. After running the required cables through the walls behind the flat panel TV and mounted speakers in various locations (wires in the walls), I moved a satellite receiver and surround sound system with DVD player into a closet. I then set the remote extender transmitter on the front center speaker which has the transmitter hidden by the bottom edge of the TV and then set the remote extender receiver on top of the satellite receiver tried it and everything works great. I expected to have to place the remote extender receiver in front of the electronics, but it works great sitting on top of them. I love it and I'm very satisfied with the way it performs. The only negative I can see is there is a very slight, let me repeat, a very slight delay when the buttons on the remote are pushed.

I have an older model of this product by Terk. I is the same device but in a different casing. The old device, used at home, has been working well for a few years. The newer device, as pictured here, has never worked well. Often, I will unplug the transmitter and plug it back in which sometimes gets it to work, but not always. The remote is usually pointed about 1 ft from the transmitter and the receiver is about 15 ft away from the transmitter, just around an open corner, just out of site. The component I am trying to control is only 6 ft from the receiver. I do not think this is a well made product.

Comments about Terk Technologies LF-IRX Remote Control Extender:
I use this product to control an Infrared controlled air conditioner not in the line of sight of my typical location. It can also control two other infrared devices. I used the prior model to control my cable tv box while concealing it under my bed.
I think this would be an excellent seller if people understood what it can do and how effortless it is to install and use.

Comments about Terk Technologies LF-IRX Remote Control Extender:
I USE THESE ALONG WITH A 40 FOOT HDMI CABLE TO WATCH HD CABLE IN TWO ROOMS.
I DIDN'T WANT TO RENT A SECOND HD BOX FROM THE CABLE COMPANY.
IT WAS FAST AND EASY TO SET UP!
NOW I CAN ENJOY THE SAME HD QUALITY IN TWO ROOMS AND ONLY PAY FOR ONE.
NOTHING TO PROGRAM!
PLUG THEM IN AND PLACE THEM AS DESCRIBED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS.
IT IS THAT SIMPLE.

Comments about Terk Technologies LF-IRX Remote Control Extender:
I have the older LF-IRX and they are great. I asked Audiovox if the new ones and the old one would work together and they said yes, well I haven't had any luck getting them to work together and the range and sensativity on the new ones is not as good as the previous version. I also like the old style better as well, they are more pyramid shaped. I will keep them as they are better than nothing but I wish I could still by the old model...

This product lets me close the doors on my A/V equipment cabinet (Wife is really happy) and do all of the remote operation with ease.
It works very well with the HDTV- TV, Receiver, and DVD equipment that I have. I recommend it to anyone!

I used the remote extender inside a cabinet that contained my components. No I have my components behind closed doors (out of sight), but controllable from their own remotes. Easy set-uo, reliable operation. Highly recommended.

Comments about Terk Technologies LF-IRX Remote Control Extender:
Nice looking redesign. The first unit I received was defective. The receiver created interference that allowed no remote control of some devices. Audiovox/Terk Tech support offered no insight to the trouble, or that the issue was, or could be their problem.

Comments about Terk Technologies LF-IRX Remote Control Extender:
The unit is easy to install but has a week IR reciever and it's a waste of money. You need to be right on the unit to change channels on a reicever. I do not recommend. I regret buying this non functional unit, don't make the same mistake.

Comments about Terk Technologies LF-IRX Remote Control Extender:
does not work AT ALL! When turned on it blinds all my components to even their own IR direct remote signals. The units LOOK more attractive than other models, but do not work.

Comments about Terk Technologies LF-IRX Remote Control Extender:
Due to unknown interference, the frequency that the remotes are set at does not offer enough range to overcome the signal strength of the interference. The units work fine but have limited range due to other unknown sources at the time.

Comments about Terk Technologies LF-IRX Remote Control Extender:
it does what it says it will do ... i can put the directv receiver in another area, put the TERK receiver there and the transmitter in the living room ... but you have to be DEAD-On when you point your remote at the transmitter ... closer is better and right AT the spot ...
Comments about Terk Technologies LF-IRX Remote Control Extender:
Not a great product. A lot of times you need to hit the remote at least twice for the signal to go through. The price is right though...

Using it to be able to control our tv which apparently has a weak ir sensor. This system is cheap and does the job well.
