Comments about Lowepro Pro Trekker AW II Backpack:
I've been using Lowepro's Trekker backpacks since the original Photo trekker circa 1990. I moved up to the Pro Trekker AW II after finding I couldn't squeeze everything I needed to carry into my older pack. Each generation is a little slicker and more refined. On the plus side, it's just big enough to carry two Eos-1D size D-SLR's with four L series zooms, plus the usual gadgets and sundries (cable release, spare batteries etc). The included side bags are about the right size for another big zoom and a flash unit. Construction is top-notch all around. The harness system is very comfortable and infinitely adjustable; I had no trouble carrying it all day long, fully loaded. The front compartment for clothing etc. can be converted into a removable pack with its own set of shoulder straps. On the negative side, the weather-sealed zipper construction is very stiff, requiring serious effort to open or close. The thick padding on the front hatch is poorly secured, and tends to get in the way when you're trying to close the pack in a hurry. And this thing is a beast, weighing more than 10 lbs. before you put anything in it.
If you want to hike any distance and carry all your photo stuff with you, even in the rain or snow, this is a great choice. It's overkill if you'll never go farther than the end of the parking lot, and it may be a bit much for smaller people.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Trekker AW II Backpack:
This bag is hugh. A little more than I need but will hold the stated items above. The Pro Trekker's belt strap is a great asset while riding my Harley with 2 dslr, 300mm 2.8 and 4 other lenses. helps keep the pack on tight. Very roomy and thought-out design.
