I have been using the cloud to shoot hardware for a catalog, and it works pretty well. Diffuses the light very well. My only compaint is that you still see the camera lense in the reflections, but this is easily removed in Photoshop. Works best outdoors on a sunny day, or indoors with alot, alot, alot of light. Reflectors are great for adding a warm or cool color cast.

The light that is captured is amateur at best. You are truly better off picking up a book and learning a few more tips on lighting. Not a cure all in any way.
