At last Lowpro's Toploader Holster Bag 75 AW, a top loading camera bag that comfortably allows you to carry a Canon 50D SLR camera, camera mounted battery pack, Canon's 70 - 200 mm IS USM zoom lens, Canon Speedlight 580 EX II, Canon EF 2X Extender, spare batteries and spare memory cards -all visible and within quick and easy reach, thanks to its top-loader intelligent design concept. Plus, the bag is expandable - if the situation requires it, you can add side pouches to carry an extra wide-angle lens, a light meter or, other accesories. You can carry the Top loader to your side using the shoulder strap that is included. Alternatively, you can carry it in front - resting on your chest using the chest harness provided with 75 AW. The best thing about it is that with 75 AW, you no longer have to carry a backpack which inevitably gets heavey with all the equipment that most of us ratpacks love to carry around - just because there is space available in the often oversized backpack and "just in case" we may need it. I call 75 AW, the relatively light, ergonomically well-designed top loader my "Freedom Pack". It frees me to walk around casually in the park or in the city and therefore gives me the ability to quickly pull out and engage my camera in a few seconds. No more missing that perfect shot because I was fiddling around and bending down to lay my traditional heavy backpack on the ground so I can pull out the camera, mount the lens etc. Most importantly, no more feeling the insecurity that comes from a photographer leaving the equipment on the ground while his/her attention is inevitably diverted towards chasing down the Subject to capture that perfect shot. As far as I am concerned, this bag should be called "the Freedom Pack". The only negative is that the shoulder harness straps need to be more generous in length for those of us who need it. For comfort, the shoulder straps also need to be a little better padded.

I bought this bag for my nikon zoom with battery charger. This was the only bag that would fit it. I need a bag to just put my camera in so it doesn't get bumped, because I am a newspaper/fire dept. photographer and need to run out of the house in a split second. I found it tooo bulky. I will probably just buy a small camera bag instead. It might be a good buy for someone else.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader 75 AW Camera Holster Bag:
I needed a bag to hold a new Canon 50d and a 24-70mm L. This bag is long enough to leave the hood in place, while traveling. Could use some more pockets for batteries / cards etc.

I like the camera bag very much but found the shoulder strap that comes with it cumbersome to use. I wound up buying a replacement strap that suited my needs better.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader 75 AW Camera Holster Bag:
I bought this bag to replace my backback for easier access to the camera when the need arises. I also wanted something that could hold most of my gear. In these areas the 75 AW did not disappoint. I can fit my Canon 40D with the 70-200 F4 L (hood reversed), and the 17-40 F4 L in the main compartment. I can also get the nifty fifty in the small outer pocket, and the 430EX flash unit in the larger pocket. I have even strapped my lightweight Gitzo tripod to the side of the pack effectively. Of course it has an itegrated weather protection bag to protect your gear in the rain.
On the downside, when fully loaded the bag is rather heavy and bulky, and the strap is not very comfortable.
I think the 75 AW is a good choice when you need alot of gear and don't need to travel lightly. For longer hiking trips and city travel you may want to add a smaller bag to cut down on the bulk. I am very happy with this bag.

I have my Sigma 120-400 OS mounted on my D80 most of the time for bird and small animal photography. The 75AW lets me carry my gear between locations comfortably.
It even has a rain shield built in to one of the pockets in case I get caught away fro cover in a shower.

I use the TL75AW for airline travel when I want to go light. As for what is great about it, well, everything! I can't find anything about it that I don't like. I have it loaded with a D200/18-200MM, SB800,BH3 ball head/SC29 cord, extra ENEL3E & charger and a hand full of CF cards. I just can't fault Lowepro bags and I've got a closet full of 'em.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader 75 AW Camera Holster Bag:
This bag is very roomy and for me is lightweight for its size, especially considering other bags I have used. I was shocked at how much i could actually fit inside the bag, it holds my 40D with grip, EX flash, 4 batterys, charger and memory card holder. Very comfrotable as a walk around bag.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader 75 AW Camera Holster Bag:
Overall this is a very good bag, I've used it with my 40D + grip + 70-200mm f2.8 L lens and it fits nicely. My only quip about this bag is that the included shoulder strap is not long enough for me, but that was an easy fix.
The all weather cover has saved my gear in many a downpour too!

Comments about Lowepro Toploader 75 AW Camera Holster Bag:
I've been looking for a big camera bag to house my D300 w/grip and my 70-200 vr lens attached. Well, I've found one and it does fit. I don't use the harness, just the shoulder strap and it feels great. Once in use, the bag really comes into it's own. It doesn't seem as big in the field, it actually feels perfect. I've also attached two side lens cases via the sliplock system which works great!
The reason why I gave this 4 out of 5 stars is because even though I mention the bag is big... it's not big enough. Meaning, I'd like to fit an external flash (SB 800) and the only room is in the front pocket which is not padded, but it fits.

I have found this a useful bag for carrying my Canon 40D into the field with either the kit 28-135mm lens or my 100mm Macro lens. The bag is comfortable to wear and it allows me to stash my camera in a safe place while I use binoculars or other gear.

I found this bag to be very vesatile. I've used it for street shooting where the bag allows me to take the camera(s)easily out of the bag, and for safe transport when hiking. When I'm hiking I keep the bag inside my backpack. I've loaded this bag with two full-size Nikon (film & digital)SLR camera bodies with mid-lenth lenses attached. It was snug, but it all fit. The bag also handles my Nikon F5 with a long telephoto lens attached with room for a flash. I did change the strap with something a little more comfortable and longer.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader 75 AW Camera Holster Bag:
I purchased this bag for our first hiking vacation in Arizona this past March. I knew I would need something that would both be light weight and afford the protection my gear needs. I didn't wear the bag on my chest, I just slung it over my shoulder but retrieving my camera from it was so easy. There is plenty of room for the essentials needed for filters, cords, Etc. Some folks might balk at the slightly larger size then they might be used to but it will become a non-issue very quickly.
I have nothing negative to say. If you are planning on taking your gear where a naked camera should not go then buy this bag.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader 75 AW Camera Holster Bag:
I needed a camera bag for hiking so I wouldn't have to haul around my big backpack with over 30 pounds of gear. I have a couple of fairly long Canon L series lenses (around 7 inches in length), and Toploader 75AW is the only bag I've seen that can hold my EOS-5D with one of those lenses attached. It's quite convenient to be able to access my camera without having to remove and open a backpack. It can be slightly difficult to remove the camera and lens, because they fill up the bag, but it's not a big deal. I've only used the shoulder strap so far (you might consider getting a more comfortable strap); I haven't tried the chest harness yet, and I doubt I will.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader 75 AW Camera Holster Bag:
This bag offers exspensive cameras very good protection and is built very well. The aw hood that comes out of the pouch seems like it will work but is placed in such a way that the zipper on one of the front pockets will have to remain open while its in use. The size of the interior of this bag is planty for my Canon 5D and 24-105 lens thats on it, plenty room for a long telephoto in the future. But the size of the exterior of this bag is a little large for a shoulder style bag in my opinion. Some may find the chest harnes useful but the size of this bag along with the absense of any padding on the straps for the chest harnes will make it very uncomfortable. The reason I gave this bag 4 stars instead of 5 is I belive it is exspensive. This is not one of the water tight mount everest packs that hold 5 lenses and 2 bodies but its price begins to aproach several high quality back packs and day packs. If this were priced $50-$60 I would rate it at 5 stars. I chose this for its ease of use over the back pack and seems to perform well for what its meant for.
Comments about Lowepro Toploader 75 AW Camera Holster Bag:
I use this bag for my 10D with a 70-200 f4.0L (with lens hood on and facing down) and it fits in nicely. Also has room in the front pocket for speedlight (my 430EX in it's case fits nicely), extra batteries (I have three for the camera and another set for the speedlight) - plus there's room to spare. The sliplock attachment points on each side of the bag are good - for extra lenses or other gear in sliplock cases. Also the all weather cover is good - I have been out in light rain and it's kept everything dry...though I wouldn't totally rely on it with expensive gear, but it's nice as some extra protection.
Expertise: Semi-pro photographer
Problems Encountered: The shoulder harness while a good idea, could be a little more comfortable - it works fine, but could be a little better. Apart from that it's a great bag for the purpose it was designed for.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader 75 AW Camera Holster Bag:
I use this bag with my Nikon D200 with the MB-D200 batterygrip and either a 17-55mm F2.8 or a 70-200mm F2.8. This is apretty big camera, and big(ish) lenses, and the bag fitsperfectly. The 17-55mm can be used with the hood on, but the70-200mm needs to have the hood reversed.I use it mainly inside a backpack when mountain biking orskiing. I have removed all the straps, and using the D-clipson the side of the bag, I attach it with mini 'biners tothe top of the backpack, so the camera is always ready tograb. This si just as fast as using a backpack where theentire front or back can be zipped open (if you only have 1camera and 1 lens, that is).The zipper for the main compartment is sturdy and easy touse. Even with the zipper open, the flap protects well, atleast if used inside a backpack. There are two small pockets on the outside, nice for filtersand batteries, but not much room, and thus not much bulk either.
Problems Encountered: None!
