Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for Medium (15 x 55") HalfDome
This is a Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for the Medium (15 x 55") HalfDome. This grid limits the light spread from your softbox to 40°. It fastens to the recessed front of the softbox via touch fasteners.
Grids are essential accessories for any lighting system. A grid alters the shape and intensity of the light output from your softbox when it is mounted on a light head. Consider a grid as a painter would a brush, or a sculptor would a knife, or chisel.

See my review of the Medium HalfDome strip light softbox that this grid attaches to.
The grid allows precise control of light angle and placemment. Kills some of the power of your strobe or continuous light but all you do to compensate is meter as usual.
Being able to control the light is the name of the game and this accessory is a great add to your lighting kit.

There's not much to reviewing this. It stops the light leakage from the sides and let's me focus the light more. The velcro goes on solid and it comes with a case and the build / stitching seems like it would last.

This is a very easy product to use. The Grid for Halfdome comes rolled up (like a tape measure). All you need to do is unroll-it and attach using the velcro tabs. Removing it, is just the reverse process. Couldn't be made any easier.
Does a very nice job of limiting the spread/spill of light from my light box.
Pros: rolls up into a nice tight package. Doesn't take up much room.
