Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for Medium (5') OctoDome
This is a Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for the Medium (5') OctoDome. This grid limits the light spread from your softbox to 40°. It fastens to the recessed front of the softbox via touch fasteners.
Grids are essential accessories for any lighting system. A grid alters the shape and intensity of the light output from your softbox when it is mounted on a light head. Consider a grid as a painter would a brush, or a sculptor would a knife, or chisel.

When lighting a subject the larger and closer the light the softer the light appears. I bought the 5' OctoDome for those reasons and the grid makes it possible to get the large soft light that the box conveys without spilling the light into unwanted areas of the image such as the background. The grid is easy to install and controls light spill well. This grid is well made and folds easily to fit inside the storage bag.

I bought this as an alternative to the Chimera grid. It works great. It doesn't fit the front of my 5 ft. Octabank perfectly, but for half the price it's close enough.
