The DPA 4061 is a miniature omnidirectional lavalier microphone designed for use in performance and theatrical applications. The miniature lavalier features a condenser element with a frequency and sensitivity response that will accurately reproduce audio signals from the human voice and instruments. The capsule is designed with a double vent protection system and moisture resistant materials inside the capsule, which ensure maximum protection from humidity and moisture caused by perspiration, makeup, etc.
The 4061 includes interchangeable capsule protection grids that alter the signal character of the microphone. A "High Boost" capsule creates a peak at 12kHz, creating an airy texture to audio signals. The "Soft Boost" capsule creates a subtle boost between 8-20kHz, enhancing signal presence. With a SPL rating of 144dB, the microphone is more than capable of reproducing transient (peaking) audio before clipping. The 4061 is powered via +48V phantom power and features a Micro Dot output connector, compatible with various wireless microphone transmitters or power supplies with standard XLR outputs.
Note! All DPA microphones feature a proprietary MicroDot connection and may require an optional adapter for use with various wireless microphone transmitters. Please click here for a complete listing of all available DPA adapters on the B&H website.

Comments about DPA Microphones 4061 Omnidirectional Miniature Low-Sensitivity Microphone (Black):
I've used all the popular small lav style mics for years, and they are each good mics in their own way. But since upgrading to the DPA mics I can't go back. I use DPA 4061 (and DPA 4060, same element just more sensitive) in live audio and video production. For singers, violin, sax, mandolin, trumpet, etc., the 4061 is simply killer; full frequency range, flat, rich and hi-fi sounding. And for spoken word in video production they are really great too; only my Schoeps MK41 mics sound better in the field, but they cost over [$] each, and are a much larger boom held mic. I use the DPA 4061 mics with the small adhesive stick on clips (on sax, mandolin, guitar) or with tape (sax, grand piano), or with the violin slings (between bridge and tailpiece), with an over-the-ear headset (spoken word and singing). Note that these are omni-directional and I haven't tried the other small DPA directional mics (which probably don't sound better, but might help with any rare feedback problems).

Comments about DPA Microphones 4061 Omnidirectional Miniature Low-Sensitivity Microphone (Black):
I recently upgraded all of my existing lavalieres on my entire ew500 wireless mic system with DPA 4061's. What a difference! The audio is so smooth. Nothing but compliments from my colleagues and clients. I would give this product a much higher score than 5 stars!
