Clamp it, Clamp it and go!
I use these for a variety of needs. They come in handy and I could not survive with out them. The more I use them, the more I need them.

I ordered two of these, one to secure each side of my white seamless so that it doesn't unroll. I work alone, so need to be able to hold the roll of paper in one hand and clamp with the other. The clamp is too strong to open with one hand. I need to use both hands. Also, the tips are too wide for the paper roll when it's on the support.
As someone already echoed, this has its uses, but not for small jobs (especially when you're working alone).

I have been using these primarily with my background stand in my studio to secure backgrounds and seamless rolls. Fits around the stand's legs well and doesn't leave a mark. (Plus the orange tips are a nice touch.) You might have to two-hand this one to open it fully and some may see this as a problem, but this is exactly the strength you want when securing your equipment. The only complaint from me would be that they are fairly heavy and sometimes I wish the clamp ends were a little longer. I've also found them handy with fill cards by clamping them to the base to hold them upright when working on a table top. And for that time when I had to superglue a shoe together...

I bought these clamps because they were suggested to me by BH when I bought a background stand, but I should've heeded the reviews that said to avoid them if you are a lady. I found that they were quality clamps, able to support heavy backdrops, but also extremely hard to open for both strong guys and girls. I would suggest a smaller size for ordinary use, but otherwise a good buy.

I use these to help manage my backgrounds. When you clamp with these things they stay clamped and that is mostly good.

[...]These clamps gives my background kit that professional aspect that all independent videos producers aspire to gain. using multiple clamps removes unsightly wrinkles from the muslin backgrounds that I use.

This clamp is sturdy and dependable. I would give it 5 stars but I think a 5 star clamp should get you laid or something.

They are quite large, and do what they need. I use them to hold up background cloth when filming my interviews and they work just fine.

This works great. The only drawback is that it may be too big for some jobs.
