The flagship refractor model from Celestron, the C6-RGT features such amenities as a 2" focuser to maximize the field of view and a strong CG-5 equatorial mount allowing you to unearth all the views afforded by higher magnification. The electronic database of the computerized NexStar hand controller has 40,000 objects at your disposal, as well as 400 user-programmable points to track. This is a big telescope unsuited to doing much travelling, but if you're serious about the viewing and imaging then you'd be hard pressed to do better for the price.
This is the "RGT" version of the scope, meaning that it has the same wonderful CG-5 German-type equatorial mount as the "R" version but with electronic control in both axes and the capacity for GPS-aided telescope alignment (with purchase of optional #93963 GPS accessory). Once aligned, the computerized system can take you to any of the 40,000 objects in the database, and it is possible to integrate the telescope to your personal computer using the RS-232 communications port (An RS-232 cable is not included, but is available separately as #93920 or as included with #93710 NexRemote software).
- German-type CG-5 equatorial mount
- An ideal prime focus imaging instrument for SLR cameras, with unobstructed 2" focuser
- Slow-motion control upon both axes
- Range of 21-354x magnification with 13.4 limiting stellar magnitude
- Light-gathering capacity 459x greater than the human eye
