This is a Lowel DV Core 250 Kit, GO-85 Case, 1000 total watts, three-tungsten light kit. It includes light stands, umbrella, gels, barndoors, bulbs and a GO-85 case.
The Rifa EX44 is a compact self-contained, 16 x 16" 250W, collapsible, tungsten/halogen softlight. Its quick-change power cord easily converts for use with professional DC battery belts. Choose between halogen, or screw-in fluorescent lamps, using a different module (available separately).
With its high-intensity #2 reflector and prismatic glass, the tiny focusable Pro-light is more efficient than a Fresnel of equal wattage, yet it gives an even light, with Fresnel-like shadow quality.
Powerful enough to light a small room yet small enough to fit in a large pocket, the V-light can be used as a broad key-light, a fill-light (with an umbrella or diffusion gel), a back-light, or a background light.

I just started using my product a few day ago, and trust me as a early starter for filmmaker, you should buy this produce, it good for low budget stuff and interviews. The like are great, you can turn off the house like and get a better view with the DV core 250 kit. The only thing that ain't so great about it is you can really burn yourselves if you not really careful of what you doing.

Comments about Lowel DV Core 250 Kit, GO-85 Case:
This kit was bought to be used with my new DSLR set-up. Works great with that. Everything is very sturdy and easy to set up. The only thing that I thought could have been constructed better was the soft box. the velcro doesn't pull tight enough on the box, but still does the job. Also the lights seem to get hot pretty quick.
All in all a good kit and worth the money

The problem that I have with the V-light is that it smokes. Years ago when I owned this light it smoked then, too. Can't they find a design that elimiates this?

We are a small production company and these lights are great for all of the sit-down interviews that we conduct. The three different light options is really all you need for a news style type of interview and this kit is perfect.

Comments about Lowel DV Core 250 Kit, GO-85 Case:
This is a very flexible package for lighting interviews. Quick setup. Plenty of light with low power requirements. Buy extra bulbs. Bought the GO 85 hard case for airline travel (smaller than the tube, may get away with it as a carry-on). Light enough to carry but wish the case had wheels.
