Alien Skin Software Eye Candy Organic Effects Software for After Effects - Mac

Eye Candy for After Effects is a set of 20 time-saving special effects that will enhance any film, video, animation or multimedia project. Sophisticated texture, production and distortion effects have never been easier-you'll be creating dazzling organic effects in a fraction of the time they used to require. Eye Candy for After Effects automatically adapts to irregular floating objects, modifies layer opacity information, and allows users to draw outside layer boundaries without precomposing. Users can also apply effects based on transparency information from other layers. Eye Candy's formerly stationary filters are set in motion in Eye Candy for After Effects, with new parameters which give users precise control over the effects' time and direction-based aspects. Now, bevels, glows and other complex, organic effects can mutate and snake around your footage with a few mouse clicks.

The Popular Eye Candy Effects Used in Photoshop - Now for Animation and Video
Eye Candy for After Effects improves on the formerly-stationary filters, adding new parameters and giving users exact control of the effects' new time- and direction-based aspects. ul>
  • Antimatter adjusts a layer's brightness from 0 to 100 percent without affecting its hue and saturation values. For example, Antimatter can change dark yellow to light yellow or any shade between. This differs from After Effects' Invert feature, which creates a color negative of the image.
  • Carve makes areas within alpha boundaries appear carved or chiseled.
  • Chrome produces a banded-gradient effect that can be used to simulate chrome, gold and other metals.
  • Cutout makes the area inside an alpha boundary appear as a hole in the image.
  • Fire produces flames rising from your layer in the shape of the alpha boundary.
  • Fur smears the image using randomly placed clumps of fur. The spacing and shape of these clumps can be controlled to achieve an amazing variety of effects.
  • Gaussian Blur is an improved version of the After Effects filter of the same name. Our version allows blurring beyond layer boundaries, and also provides Alpha Layer parameters.
  • Glass puts a sheet of colored glass on top of your selection - a wide range of glass, ice and watery effects is possible.
  • Glow draws a semi-transparent glow around the outside edge of the alpha boundary. Usually this filter is used to simulate a neon effect, but creative use of color and opacity will give you effects subtle enough for many purposes.
  • HSB Noise lets you add noise to a layer by varying its Hue, Saturation, Brightness and Transparency. Adding noise to computer-generated artwork can help it appear more natural.
  • Inner Bevel will give your selection an embossed look, or the appearance of being raised up from the rest of the image.
  • Jiggle produces a new kind of distortion based on randomly placed bubbling. Unlike the After Effects distortion filters, Jiggle is not based on a wave pattern or around a single axis. Instead, Jiggle yields a more organic distortion, resulting in a selection that appears as if it is bubbling, gelatinous, or even shattered.
  • Motion Trail smears the selection outward in one direction, giving the illusion of motion. This filter is different from the Motion Blur built into Photoshop in that it smears in one direction, and it leaves the original selection recognizable.
  • Outer Bevel makes your selection appear embossed or raised up from the rest of the image.
  • Perspective Shadow creates a shadow behind your alpha boundary, tilted so that the selection appears to be standing up as the light comes from above and in front. The shadow is attached to the object rather than floating below it, creating a 3-D perspective illusion.
  • Smoke can produce a variety of smoky effects rising from your alpha boundary.
  • Squint is a new kind of blur which unfocuses your selection by spreading each pixel around the edge of a circle. The result resembles a reflection in a vibrating mirror or an image projected out of focus.
  • Star quickly and easily creates stars and other regular polygonal shapes without the need to import them from another program or use the pen tool to approximate them.
  • Swirl smears an image using randomly-placed whirlpools. The spacing and shape of these whirlpools can be controlled to achieve an amazing variety of effects.
  • Weave gives your alpha boundary selection the appearance of being woven. You may select the width of the strips and gaps that form the weave, and specify the color, if any, of the gaps. In addition, you can add texture to the woven strips. This effect also features flow parameters, used to move the woven texture across a layer.
  • Superb Simulations of Natural Phenomena
Eye Candy for After Effects creates simulations of natural phenomena that are more fluid and beautiful than ever, not to mention easier than you ever imagined. Fire and Smoke render a wide range of lapping flames and billowing smoke with a few mouse clicks on our simple controls. Fur is able to simulate anything from porcupine quills to waves of grain. Glass can create watery surfaces, layers of ice and shower doors, and Chrome's effects range from cool metallic gradients to wood surfaces. The wide range of dazzling possibilities in Eye Candy for After Effects will add fuel your creative fires.
Effects Adapt To and Modify Layer Transparency
Eye Candy takes full advantage of After Effects' advanced features; the effects are able to rely on After Effects' alpha channel support to intuitively apply themselves according to layer opacity information. This means that you can draw outside layer boundaries without precomposing, and that the effects can be used with odd-shaped or shifting objects. The effects can even modify opacity information, allowing you to ignite a logo, for example, and still see through the semi-transparent smoke and flames.
Apply Effects Using Alpha Channels From Different Layers - Even Invisible Layers
The Alpha Layer tool in Eye Candy for After Effects allows users to apply the effects in one layer based on another layer's alpha channel, even if the second layer is invisible. This means, for example, that if you have a text layer and a background layer, you can apply Carve to the background layer using the text layer's alpha channel, creating animated chiseled text on your background. In addition, the new Alpha Origin tool easily adjusts or offsets the Alpha Layer's position to your specifications.
