This is a perfect solution to small space recording. I have it set up on my studio table with monitors and 30" computer screen. Swings in and out of the way perfectly - also comes pre wired with Mic XLR cord. I am using this with a vintage AKG 414 MIC - I will purchase a second one for dual vocals during podcast creating.
Comments about AKG Table Mounted Scissor Stand (Black):
I am in the process of building a recording studio. I bought this mike stand to mount upside down to hang from the ceiling in my sound booth. It would work great as a desktop stand (as it is advertised) but the springs are pulling in the wrong direction to be able to hold a condensor mike up. The knobs that tighten the knuckles don't really have enough grit to hold the joints tight when there is a mike on it. This is the only product I found that was even close to what I was looking for. It is well built and has all of the right parts. To fix it, I think I am going to reattach the springs so that they are pulling the mike back up when it is inverted. Great product, just not in my application.
