One of the best things for a boom-op and areas I did not compromise was this Remote Audio coiled XLR with angled female end. Early on I used regular XLR cable and it was always a mess. I was constantly tripping over it or having to rewrap it. This cable does away with all that hassle and the angled female end makes coming out a boom a bit less cumbersome.

I bought it for use with a boom-pole but ended up using it as a the only cable from mixer to mic.
Because its 2' to 7' that allowes me to use the mic in hand or to actually put my bag on the floor and walk away from it with the mic in my hand.
The "L" adapter is the narrowest 45degree XLR connector out there and it works extremely well inside blimps and wont stress the cable or the shock-mount.
I also think it is an improvement on the previous XLR cable I had been using.
