ILIO Sample CD: Bass Legends (Roland)

Bass Legends CD-ROM in Roland format features three of the best bass session players around, namely Marcus Miller, John Patitucci and Abraham Laboriel. The library offers both intricately multi-sampled instruments and chromatically sampled grooves and phrases called Chromazones. The latter makes "phrase sampling" a more original and flexible tool, allowing the user to create their own grooves in any key signature that can even work in multiple tempos The phrase loops span a wide range of styles, from funk, rock and reggae, to swing and acid jazz.

The players' instruments cover a tremendous variety of tones, ranging from 4, 5, 6 and 8 string electric basses to Patitucci's Pollman Acoustic bass, and all were recorded using the finest in vintage tube technology. The multi samples include velocity switching and include picked, fingered, slapped, popped, and muted clean samples, a couple of overdrive-colored electric basses, half a dozen fretless basses, and one outstanding acoustic bass. Also included in the 650MB Bass Legends CD-ROM are various special effects such as slides, string hits and scrapes.
