Comments about Avenger AVA2030DCB Turtle Base Century Stand, Grip Arm Kit (Black) 9.75' (3m):
I finally got a couple of these and loving them so far, I know they'll last me probably forever. I had to opt for the removable base because the other models wouldn't fit in my rolling Tenba case otherwise. The only negatives about these stands is the weight and that it's not possible to incorporate a leveling leg since the base is removable.

Comments about Avenger AVA2030DCB Turtle Base Century Stand, Grip Arm Kit (Black) 9.75' (3m):
First thing I noticed is the weight. Its heavy and now I have no fear that it will ever fall over. And even if I do fear it will I can hang my gear bag on the boom arm.
I've put a Mola Demi Beauty dish on the boom arm and even hanging with the boom arm full length it still is stable.
The legs would be nice if they came as a foldable 4 leg option or even a foldable rocky mountain leg.
Overall very happy, rather have silver then black though. my bad...

Comments about Avenger AVA2030DCB Turtle Base Century Stand, Grip Arm Kit (Black) 9.75' (3m):
One of the better photographic purchases I have made.
I am not a pro (home studio, shoot some on the side for cash), so I originally balked at buying into this level of gear. Wish I had bought this years ago!
Quality made, very sturdy, and best of all... with the extension arm, it can do things that other light stands just simply can't do.
I do use it for on location shoots...heavy, but absolutely worth taking. So flexible. If loading something heavy on the arm, sandbag it (as good as it is, sorry, it's not impervious to the laws of physics, and given the rigidity of this thing, you'll be tempted to throw anything on the arm at any angle).
One of the few things I've bought in the last 5 years that I can say I wish I had bought 5 years ago!

Very solid, sturdy stand used for monolights and large Elinchrom Rotalux softbox(es). Have seen no need to counter balance with sand bags. Excellent product. They are heavier than the more portable Manfrotto light stands that I take with me on location. These are outstanding for studio work.

Great stand. Like that it's in black so no reflections from lights. The clamps are all very well made and secure.
I will probably buy a 2nd!

Very nice quality C-Stand. Comes with everything you need. They are a bit heavier than other c-stands that I've worked with, but considering the fact that they're holding my $2300 lights, I'm not sure why that would be a con.
Would highly recommend.

Very nice stand, sturdy and somewhat heavy, just what I needed! The paint as others have said, does chip easily, and with only very light use so far. It folds up nicely, so it should be easy to pack.

Comments about Avenger AVA2030DCB Turtle Base Century Stand, Grip Arm Kit (Black) 9.75' (3m):
I was hesitant to spend the extra money on a c-stand vs the lesser cost of the 13' light stands that I had been using. Bottom line, this was well worth the extra money. The smaller footprint and sturdiness of the product really impressed me and the grip arm makes it extremely versatile. I can't wait to get a few more of these!!!

This C-Stand with the Grip Arm has been great for us. We've used it to hang lights, hang backdrops, etc. Solid and just what we expected.

Easy to setup and super compact c-stands. They are built like beasts, and have excellent gobo heads with lots of grip.

Comments about Avenger AVA2030DCB Turtle Base Century Stand, Grip Arm Kit (Black) 9.75' (3m):
This thing is as close to indestructible as it gets. Buy the best once rather than buying cheaper and replacing it when it breaks or when you see literally every photographer use these and want some for yourself. The extra grip arm kit is essential for holding almost flag, cutter, diffuser or other accessory you can think of. I literally ran over this with a truck and it was no worse for wear.
C stands aren't the best for portability as they are quite heavy and don't collapse much. Get some help lugging your gear if you need to take a few of these on location.

Comments about Avenger AVA2030DCB Turtle Base Century Stand, Grip Arm Kit (Black) 9.75' (3m):
I use lights and diffusion in the field all the time--as well as blue or green screen--and I cannot do this sort of work without a rugged set of C-stands. These particular C-stands (with arms/clamps) are everything I need--heavy, rugged, and black to reduce glare and reflections. The turtle base legs disconnect and make storing these large stands in smaller car trunks or out of the way areas very handy. I wish they had foam rubber sleeves on the main post so that I don't get frostbite handling them in the winter but that's a minor complaint. Great product. Built very well. Can't beat the price!

Very sturdy and heavy. Paint will strip (silver underneath) when is tighten too hard. I was able to mount the B600 boom with 3x4' softbox, strobe, speedring without a hiccup.

C-Stands are always useful in any lighting situation. We have had some C-Stands where the legs don't break down. These legs break down easily, which makes them easy to store. The clams on the grip arms are also very solid.

This Avenger C-stand is a great portable stand. Perfect use for holding a backdrop, strobes, or other props. Highly recommended. The removable base makes it a lot more compact for on-location work.

Comments about Avenger AVA2030DCB Turtle Base Century Stand, Grip Arm Kit (Black) 9.75' (3m):
These are great stands. I use them for obvious reasons such as holding flags, silks, and Scrim Jims. But I also use them to hold 4x4 Kino's and they work great (sandbags of course). Only downside would be that they are black and will scratch up over time. The pros are definitely the removable base, that they are much lighter weight than some stands and I personal like the rubberized T-grips.

Comments about Avenger AVA2030DCB Turtle Base Century Stand, Grip Arm Kit (Black) 9.75' (3m):
Superior build quality as sturdy as it gets. Lighter than most steel stands. Turtle base packs up nicely in my Tenba grip bag. Grip and extension arm can handle most attachments. You will need to sandbag the stands, however, if you hang heavy lights or use a large softbox. As with most Bogen/Manfrotto products, you can't go wrong.

Comments about Avenger AVA2030DCB Turtle Base Century Stand, Grip Arm Kit (Black) 9.75' (3m):
I originally wanted a C-stand so I could use an overhead light without having my assistant up on a ladder. But I've found many additional uses for it. This product is very well built, everything from the bars to the cam clamps, there is no weak link. This is a very capable stand and can hold a decent amount of weight before the need for sandbags. Only con (but not really) for some is that it might be a bit heavy or cumbersome for location use.
