Kodak Professional Tri-X 120 Black & White Print Film is an all-purpose panchromatic film for subjects requiring good depth of field and high shutter speeds, and for extending the flash distance range.
Tri-X has been an industry standard for decades. As a result of its flexibility for general use, its fine grain, "pushability" and wide latitude, Tri-X is hard to beat. The film delivers a broad, even gray scale and can be used for everything from portraits to landscapes.

I have used Kodak Tri-X Pan film in perhaps well over a thousand development sessions and print on a regular basis. Tri-X responds extremely well to development in tanning and staining developers, such as PMK formula. It is equally at home with standard developers or for push processing for speed increase. I love the tonal range and graphic quality of this film, for it truly displays the character I am after. If developed carefully, one can easily control grain with a fine grain developer, or choose to work with an acutance developer, like Rodinal, of FX-2, to bring out that gritty and edgy feel in which it is famous. For those using Tri-X or TXP for alternative processes, it works exemplary with tanning and staining developer formulas.

Comments about Kodak Professional Tri-X 120 Black & White Print Film (ISO-400):
The size of the film I use is inversely proportional to my age . . . but I stick to Tri-X (and TXP) for all of my black and white work. It is consistant and easily handled in the darkroom.
After all these years, I still shoot it at EI 100, and inversion process it at about 70. Works fine, lasts long time.

Great to use for Holgas and the Holga Wide Pinhole Camera (WPC). Light leaks are going to happen if using Holga.. it's the effect, not really the films fault.

Comments about Kodak Professional Tri-X 120 Black & White Print Film (ISO-400):
Tri-X is to black and white photography as chicken soup is to comfort food. Good stuff, dependable. Like a good old friend it's not without its limitations and idiosynracies. The grain can be a good thing or a bad, depends upon how you shoot it and what you develop it in; a good medium for various means of expression. It is one of our brushes in our art box of tools.

I've used this film with a Diana and I've had consistent results, good contrast, easy to print (in a wet darkroom). I have not yet tried scanning this film but if its anything like the 35mm Tri-X I'm sure it scans really well too.

I love Tri-x, always have and always well. Just miss the old 320 txp but hey, I'm a nostalgic!
The price was right, I was a little worried about how the films would travel all the way to Adelaide but they arrived post-haste and in top condition, I really can say nothing but good!

I have been using Tri-X as my main film because of its high speed and beautifull grain; I like the thickness of the negative, its easier to put on the developping spool
