This is what I've been looking for!
My projector only had composite, hdmi, and vga, while my dvd player only had composite and component. Composite did not produce a clear picture so i felt the full potential of my projector was not being used. However I didn't feel like shelling out a lot of money for a new dvd or blueray player just for hdmi.
So this is exactly I needed to connect my dvd player (component out) to my projector (vga in) to get the best quality picture! HD for cheap! hoorah! :)
