None of the "compatible" batteries I have tried holds as long a charge or is as reliable or long-lasting as the Canon NB-3L. I won't waste any more money trying to find cheaper alternatives.

I have the same battery which came with the camera. I bought other brand which cost less but was very diappointed; will not do it again. The Canon battary I bought holds the acharge for a long time, performce well and is dipendable.
