I use this Boom Pole for standard talking head situations where I boom from above. It is nice and light and longer than I need. The collars for each section are easy to use and I love the base mounted XLR connection.

So far, it works as expected. It's long enough for anything I can foresee happening, yet very light-weight and easy to carry when folded. Overall a great boom pole.

Comments about K-Tek KEG-100CC Avalon Series Graphite Boompole with Internal Coiled XLR Cable:
I use the boom for documentary. The internally coiled XLR really makes boom pole shots easier but it can create some noise when you move fast or quickly rotate the boom. The size is perfect for me in every situation inside and outside.

Comments about K-Tek KEG-100CC Avalon Series Graphite Boompole with Internal Coiled XLR Cable:
Use for indy filming and indy work + tutorial videos.
Extends nice and long. Lightweight! Compact is key for me. Can get this down to size quick and easy. Only a couple feet long and very light to carry.
The only 2 problems I have is that it feels somewhat flimsy, AND you can hear the cord inside. Seems to not be padded down! If you shake the pole you can hear it bouncing around inside. Not too hard to work around, but can cause noise which is no good.

I use the boom for interviews inside and outside. It is lightweight and adjustable which allows me a great deal of positioning options for sound pick up. It has an easy one turn telescoping feature for quick adjustments, and solid construction. I use the Zoom 4 track with the boom and it's perfect!

We are a youth media organization, so our equipment gets heavy use by many inexperienced hands. This boompole is perfect for us. It's incredibly sturdy with few moving parts. The sections lock into place securely and the internally coiled XLR cable makes boom pole shoots SO much easier!
