Purchased for student use in a university Journalism department. Handle that tightens and loosens mount for use at different angles broke off and so the knob cannot be tightened or loosened without a pliers. The mic can still be positioned based on friction, but the knob is essentially useless. I'd recommend a mount with a smaller knob that's less prone to breaking off.

About 2 years ago, I bought a mic kit that included a shock mount, I wasn't really happy with it. So I eventually got around to buying a new shock mount, which is the one I'm reviewing.
I was extremely happy with this new shock mount, it just feels better and more well-designed than the one I had before.

Very sturdy design with an ability to withstand the weight of some of the longer/heavier microphones I placed in it. The lock has a unique pivot which I'm not really worried will break off or wear out any time soon.
