The Samson Q7 is a high quality handheld microphone designed for vocal and general instrument capturing in recording and sound reinforcement applications. The heart of the capsule features a neodymium element which results in exceptionally high gain with a low output noise floor. The linear frequency response results in accurate reproduction of vocals. High SPL response enables the Q7 to be placed near transient signal sources such as drums and guitar cabinets with minimal distortion and noise. The element is internally shock mounted which further reduces output noise.

Comments about Samson Q7 - Cardioid Neodymium Dynamic Handheld Microphone:

Mic CAN be used for live instrument recording (including amps)/performing and vocals.

            Clear crisp sound. Reliable.
Little to no feed back when performing/recording.

However, the mic did stand out to me as significantly better for being as a live/recording vocal mic opposed to an instrument mic (especially with acoustic guitar)

Mic has been used for a number of live performances with randing from spoken word and hip hop to r'n b and rock... and a studio recorded pod cast. (the host had one too many guests and we needed one more mic for the show, and it came through for us beautifully!)

I use the mic for voice overs. Not too sibilant or "P" popping.
