I purchased this product to recharge my battery for the Canon 40D (the original worked fine until destroyed in a house fire.) I had bought an off-brand "universal" charger at a local electronics store first as a replacement, but it was confusing and ended up not working with my battery, so I returned it and bought this.
This particular product is easy to use and fits perfectly with my battery. I am pleased with the quick recharge time. I have not had any difficulties with it and have used this model for four months now. I would strongly recommend using this charger for compatible Canon batteries instead of a generic one, because the generic one ended up being a big hassle for me. The extra few dollars spent on this was worth it.

This product is great. It consistently works well. I have had one for quite some time, needed another since I left my last charging at a wedding I shot. Generally the no long cord is great but occasionally it can be a pain if you are plugging it into a power strip etc and the charger itself takes up 3 spots.

I have two of these. This last one replaces the one I accidently left someplace in Prague. They are well made and work great. I especially like the LED indicator that lets you know how you are progressing with the battery charge and when the charge is completed.

This is a nice compact charger. It was apparently designed to be easy to stow in your gear bag, and they did a great job in that regard. There's no cord, and the outlet prongs fold up when not in use. It takes up very little room in the bag when traveling. It charges my batteries in about an hour or less, and I like the blinking light to let you know the charging status. Good product and worth the money, IMO.

I recently had all my gear stolen. I needed to get back into the game quick. I purchased an online auction charger that said, 'for canon' after receiving it there was only 2 screws holding the casing together. The insides had very thin wire with poor connections. This online auction battery charger did not only charge my BP-511A to full, but it kept charging it past (over charge) there was no timer or voltage meter built in. I knew i had to get a real charger. I purchased the Canon charger and this thing charges perfectly. I only use canon batteries. I feel with proper charge from this charger my batteries will have a long life.
