The Countryman B6 Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature lavalier microphone for virtually invisible operation during stage performances, video and film shoots, houses-of-worship applications and general public speaking.
The capsule measures only 0.1" in diameter and is resistant to moisture, which allows for placement in hair and on bare skin. In addition, its omnidirectional polar pattern minimizes handling noise, wind noise and plosives (popping), making the B6 a favorite in theater applications.
A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is black and features a 1/8" (3.5mm) Mini Locking connector for Sennheiser transmitters.

Comments about Countryman B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (Black):
This is a great mic and much needed upgrade for the Sennheiser wireless kit.
A little small and delicate if you are used to the Sennheiser lavs, but sound MUCH MUCH better.

Comments about Countryman B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (Black):
Poor design, notably surpassed by lousy manufacturer customer service. On paper the B6 sounds great, but in practice it flounders. The protective cap, which the mic requires for nearly all occasions, gets stuck inside the windsock (which itself has a tiny plastic structure inside to hold the two together). Once the cap is stuck inside it is nearly impossible to remove & to make matters worse the mic cannot be used inside the B6 windsock without the cap attached (due to the aforementioned plastic structure inside). I tested three black B6 windsocks, all had the same issue. The white B6 windsocks I tested had no problem though.Acoustically the B6 is superb, the size too is unmatched, but unfortunately Countryman have placed far too much reliance on the protective caps to deliver full functionality from the B6 microphone. Where the caps should be on par with the importance of the aerial on your car for instance, on the B6 they are more like the car's windscreen! Yes can still drive without it, but with great difficulty. On a number of shoots I had to give up in the end, that is, rather than keep the client waiting while I attempted to fix the B6 I simply used the original Sennheiser ME2 instead. * You can't use the B6 on the skin without the cap (or risk moisture damage). * You can't use the B6 in the windsock without the cap. * You can't use the B6 outside clothing, outdoors, without the windsock & therefore the cap. The B6 only ships with one flat response cap. Once that's stuck inside the windsock what are you to do?To add insult to injury Countryman do no respond to emails seeking assistance (sent through their own webpage) so you will be left high & dry. I sent numerous requests for assistance[...] Even then answers to simple questions took weeks. A replacement windsock (which was still faulty) took months to arrange. In the end the problem was resolved with a refund (for two B6 mics), but this took four months, cost me well over $100 in shipping & easily that again in currency conversion fees & exchange rate differences. Avoid the B6 like the plague. Stick with Sanken, Sennheiser or Sony if for no other reason than they answer emails! After the dramas I've had I would not accept the Countryman B6 as gift, indeed I won't be purchasing Countryman ever again.

Used for interviews, etc. This thing is great and has paid for itself in just a few days of work that it DIDN'T screw up on. Wonderfully small, completely discreet. Not all the bumps and scratches of my other mics.
Great!
