Countryman mics are the best around, but you have to be very careful not to lose these little windscreens... they are PRICEY.
If your windscreen doesn't fall off and get trampled on, there's no reason it shouldn't last for the lifetime of your mic.

This is a replacement for original which fell off the mic and was stepped on. Makes a big difference, with or without the windscreen; less pop and less noise when handling the mic. It's durable, as long as you don't step on it.

I've used this item to remove the sharp bumping noise when the user repositions the headset. It also takes care of the usual popping caused by the speakers pronuciations. A bare headset is adding more problems that you don't need.
