I am using the porcelain socket to hold a 250 watt bulb in my small softbox. I was planning on using it as a fill light, but it turned out to be bright enough for the close up I was doing to be my key light. So far it is working great! Unfortunately, my bulb extends past the reflector, making it difficult to transport.

Check out my review of the 12" reflector. All the same comments for this one. Solid build of metal reflector, ceramic electrical fixture, and solid wood handle. I'll never need to replace it. Use the 5" as a spot light a subject, and combine it with two 12" floods attached to reflective umbrellas for even area lighting.
