Hugely customizable - every one of the fifteen buttons can be programmed to do any keystroke or macro in any program you want. For video editing, the jog wheel & shuttle are nicely balanced and have a positive, no-slip feel. In fact the whole device, even though it's made of plastic, feels in the hand like a tool of substance. If only it were wireless.

I'm using it with my new system that has avid media composer. I've never used a shuttle controller with my liquid machine. It takes a little to get use to but with it and the hotkeys. I think I moving a little faster in my editing.

- On a Mac you'll have to go into your keyboard settings and change a few things in order for the shuttle to work correctly.

- Received the product fully packaged but one of the plastic caps for the buttons was missing. Poor quality control in the factory I suppose. I contacted Contour Design 3 times by email and phone and haven't been able to get a response on the issue.

- As for the product itself, it does the job. But the buttons up top are a little clunky when clicking play and pause a lot for instance. Buttons should be closer together, easier to push and less bulky

Streamlines my editing. Amazing tool I don't know how I ever did without it. The neatest thing is that the Shuttlepro v2 knows when your using different programs....it automatically adjusts the button layout for whatever program you are using.

Easy to use controller. Set up is a breeze works well with the Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 even thought the controller is set for version 8, also works well with Acid and Sound Forge. I found the shuttle has helped in gaining more critical edits, fast access to frequently used actions, and over all controlling of software is very good. I find the online resources are limited to a users forum, I have found it difficult to locate templates, upgrades are easy to find on Contours site but the templates are not there but can be found in the users forums. The on board software controller is helpful to manually set up the shuttle for software you have but no template is available.

I use it in Premiere and After effects and I love the tactile response of the jog wheel. Very intuitive and the quick keys mean i rarely even touch the keyboard anymore. At this price its a great tool and I wish I bought it earlier.

Jog works very well. The shuttle does too, but sometimes it seems to lose sync with the playback speed in Premiere. Overall though it definitly make editing easier and quicker.

So I tried the ShuttlePro to figure out if there's a way to edit video faster. And this controller hasn't let me down. It is very customizable. I selected one of the templates, which are preprogrammed and assigned the most important tools to the buttons. Works like a charm. The only thing I couldn't figure out was how I can make it scroll down when I use the wheel in the MacOS Finder. They guys from Contour design keep the list of supported apps updated on their website. Good support.

The Contour Design Shuttle Pro 2 is awesome!

I use the Shuttle Pro 2 in my project studio with Reason, Logic, Photoshop and even MS Word. The Jog wheel and shuttle ring are ergonomically easy to use.

It also has excellent usability and programmability, giving control over editing features where I usually needed a mouse.

The programmable buttons allowed me to configure it exactly the way I want to use it in a given multimedia application. This has helped to speed up my work-flow.

Given its price-value and ease of configuration, I strongly recommend this product!

I bought the Shuttle Pro II to use with Sony Vegas 8. At first I found it did not work, but then I downloaded the current drivers from Contour and the shuttle imediately began to work after the install. Since I have only just begun to discover the full usefulness and application of the shuttle I cannot say a lot, but I can tell you editing frame by frame is greatly enhanced, which is exactly why I purchased this product. I would recommend you purchase this shuttle if you want to enhance you film editing experience.

I edit video footage using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 and After Effects. This product makes editing so much easier and faster. It worked well with our NLE software right out of the box and I like the flexibility that it gives us in programming shortcuts on the unit's buttons. Great product that comes with so many software presets loaded in. The softwares that you may have that don't exist on the preset list can be created by you rather simply and quickly.

Use this for editing in Premiere Pro, but finding other uses in other programs as well. It works very well and is really a time (and wrist) saver.

I use one of these at work to trim show segments for broadcast, and I love it so much I bought one for editing. I wish I could label all the buttons, but like anything else once you learn them, you never look at the labels anyway.

The Shuttle Pro 2 helps me work with Final Cut and Pro Tools, just open the program, choose settings and go. Plus I can also do my own setup, I love it.

The shuttle wheel is pretty basic and intuitive. Once you get the feel of it, it makes editing a whole lot easier. I use it to edit on my laptop using CS5. Out the box it doesn't come with CS5 button configuration, but I believe they released on their website the configurations for CS5 Premiere buttons. Originally I was going to ge a Bela keyboard, but the sales rep said this was way accurate and better. So far no complaints!
