This is for those Mac(Books) that have the Mini-DVI ports instead of the normal DVI ports. The adapter obviously does what it says: Converts that Mini-DVI to VGA for most regular monitors and some TVs.
In my opinion, this adapter shouldn't even exist, but hey, since Apple needs to make a killing off of accessories, here we are.

Aesthetically, it's a bit bulky and because of the thick cord, it's a bit hard to maneuver/organize on a desk.

In order to connect my MacBook to a VGA monitor or projector I use this adapter. It's a matter of necessity (thanks, Apple!) but if you want to externalize your work, it does work. The construction is adequate and the price is affordable, just don't leave home without it.
