This is for those Mac(Books) that have the Mini-DVI ports instead of the normal DVI ports. The adapter obviously does what it says: Converts that Mini-DVI to VGA for most regular monitors and some TVs.
In my opinion, this adapter shouldn't even exist, but hey, since Apple needs to make a killing off of accessories, here we are.
