The PSC DV PROMIX 3 is a professional field audio mixer designed to fit the needs of DV Cam users while remaining cost effective and flexible enough for camcorder users as well. The mixer features 3-balanced XLR female inputs, switchable between microphone and line level signal. Each input provides individually switchable +48v phantom power. Left, Right and Center position switches are located on every input channel, routing signals to separate destinations or for panoramic placement of audio via the stereo outputs.
The output section features 2-balanced XLR male connectors that are also line level and microphone level switchable. Output peak limiting minimizes overloaded output signal, eliminating distortion and noisy recordings. A dedicated 1/8" mini tape return input allows accurate monitoring of recorded signals from video cameras, recording devices etc. A separate 1/8" mini output provides dedicated unbalanced microphone level output for compatibility with consumer camcorders.

Comments about PSC DV PROMIX 3 - Field Mixer:
Works very well and sounds great through my Sony pro headphones and with my Senn. and Tram mics. Love the portability especially when working on location with my Canon DSLR, batteries last all day. Sure you have to monitor and setup the pots correctly but just as any other mixer. I researched alot of the mid range priced portable mixers and this is definitely the best in its class.
Wow I don't understand the reviewer here comparing the 302 (apples to oranges) he must work for the competition especially after this mixer is getting great reviews from everyone else. And comparing mixers that cost twice as much to this one, are you serious!

Comments about PSC DV PROMIX 3 - Field Mixer:
This is in no way a "great" mixer. The preamps are very noisy and easily distort, there is a very high susceptibility to RF noise, and there is no limiter (unlike sound devices mixers). Perhaps I am spoiled by using good audio gear, but if you are serious about location audio mixing, this can be a pretty frustrating device, especially when your income depends on it. Trust me, if you want to become a mixer, buy a 302 and save yourself the headache.

Comments about PSC DV PROMIX 3 - Field Mixer:
Well, every job I did not get the bigest issue always was that I needed a field mixer not a eight channel studio mixer. This product is a great mixer for being on a budget expect I wish it had more strength on the output. The Level are weak and the only way around it is to set my external recorder and camera inputs a hair high than the mixer. Please note to keep the levels out of the red on the mixer even if the levels are not distorting on the external recorder.

Works exactly like it should. As a mixer. The built in tone oscillator is fantastic.

Comments about PSC DV PROMIX 3 - Field Mixer:
I have only used it once, but it worked as expected. I wish the output volume at 0 dB was hotter, as it did not match the line input of my Canon A1 very well (-20dB with volume comtrols all the way up.)

Comments about PSC DV PROMIX 3 - Field Mixer:
I purchased this as I needed a simple, easily portable, yet sophisticated field mixer for indie work, commercials, and promotional spots. What a pleasant surprise this mixer has been! Powered by 2 9v batteries it works solidly for 6-8 hours (probably more but I haven't needed to), is light (virtually no fatigue when carrying it around), very bright LEDS (great during day shoots), and provides a test tone for calibrating the audio signal.
I have used this with shotguns (phantom power), wireless, and a combination of both and have always gotten a clean, strong, and quiet signal. There are better mixers out there (hence the 4-star rating) but if budget is a consideration I would seriously consider this unit. Very, very pleased.
