The AVLT-50 is a VITC to LTC Time Code translator; it translates time code embedded in the Vertical Interval into LTC for duplication to another tape format or to be read by Horita LTC time code reader/window burners. The "Active" functionality of this model allows pseudo VITC on digital tape formats to be translated into Linear Time Code.

- LTC output can be read by other Horita LTC products to display the VITC time code numbers frame-by-frame, make window dubs, etc.
- Format Matching
- LTC output can operate time code-based editing systems that use LTC rather than VITC and can be used to synchronize audio or video recorders requiring LTC, or to make LTC copies, etc.
- Compatibility
- Switch selectable forward only or bi-directional forward/reverse LTC output from the VLT-50 insures compatibility with a variety of LTC readers, edit controllers and synchronizers.
- Active
- The "Active" functionality of this device allows pseudo VITC on digital tape formats to be read and translated into LTC.
