This is the Photek Large Digital Lighthouse 24 x 24 x 36" (61 x 61 x 91 cm). It is a color-corrected, translucent cloth material housing for photographing small and medium products that can be lit with daylight, HMI, electronic flash, fluorescent, quartz and tungsten light sources.
The Digital Lighthouse can be lit from the sides, top, back, front or can be placed on a shooting table for bottom illumination. It also includes a removable black sweep that aids in preventing shadows on the background and provides complete separation from the item being photographed. It contains a removable plastic base, forming a rigid base for ease of product placement.
Photek's Digital Lighthouse helps to produce photographs with a professional quality because the product lighting is made simple and efficient and takes less time then conventional lighting solutions.

I just got this, as my first ever light tent. And so far I absolutely love it. I was more impressed with it when it arrived that I thought I would be... I was expecting a more cloth like material, and I got a much more robust feeling tent... The material is more of a vinyl type material. The description is wrong, the tent comes with both a white and black vinyl sweep, as well as plastic pieces to use the tent both horizontally and vertically on a light table. The only thing I don't like so far, is that the camera opening for using it in the tall configuration is opposite the side that opens fully, so you have to remove the upper part of the sweep, open the back, and position your item. In practice this really isn't a problem, and is actually probably more convienient as it means you don't have to move the camera to move items around inside. The smaller opening for shooting from length wise (as shown above) opens both as shown, and with a zipper opening... but the long side they are on opposites of the tent. Background sweeps are a vinyl material with a fuzzy cloth like surface over them... they do collect some lint/dirt/strings and will need some sort of cleaning off, I'm guessing a small vaccum will do the trick. After reading Photeks' description again, I see now that the opposite opening is a good thing to use it on non-movable objects.I'm very impressed with this, even though it's my first ever light tent (aside from one I tried making) it works great, and the results are wonderful, considering I'm using peicemeal of flash units until the photo-floods arrive (UPS separated the order by 1day)I was super surprised when I opened the box and found all but the background sweeps in a carry case, it folds flat, almost like the collapsible reflectors, very quick set-up, no pieces to install/remove, it simply collapses like a reflector (well push one corner towards it's opposite)Appears all will fit in the case, including the sweeps, but have yet to put it away again.
Problems Encountered: None! Everything is great
Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Home built light tent with tissue paper and a box
Items I Recommend: Lights or Strobes, I went with photofloods due to cost, but am already considering monolights to upgrade soon

I have not played with it very much yet, however from what I have shot thus far it looks good. Did not work very well, with objects with chrome/round or very reflective surfaces, I do see the corners of the inside of the tent more that I would like, however with some quick Photoshop this is taken care of. I like the quality of the White and black backgrounds. They do pick up lint like crazy, so remember to have a lint roller with you when on location. One thing to note, the back grounds take a few minutes to get the roll lines out, but if you lay them flat and lint roller them, you end up with an almost perfect flat background. Would recommend picking up a grey background as well to complete the kit.
Really like how small it folds down to, and the quality of the case. Feels like a large portfolio when you carry it to a location.
Dislikes, the amount of force required to open the zippers. Wish the unit had Velcro on the outside so you could connect it to a soft box as a base for stability as well to light from below - tends to move around a bunch as it is very light weight.

My first light tent and I found it easier to use than I thought it would be. Setup was easy. I like the way it collapses and everything fits in a bag that takes up no room. Photos were very good. Good lighting inside.

Easy to set up and perfect size for objects up to about 12 to 14 inches in size (height and/or width)that are too large for simple "tents". Sides transmit and diffuse direct window light without shadows, with just enough highlighting for good definition.

Out of the box it was wonderful to work with. Anyone who has used anything with the tent like material that comes folded up will know how to use it. Yes the black and white backgrounds do collect a lot of dust but is to be expected from the type of material (felt). I popped it up outside on a partly cloudy day and the pix where great, little to no retouch just some camera raw settings and a crop were all that was needed to produce images for our website.

Using this for insurance and web sales photos. This is the third, and by far the easiest, light tent I've owned.

The lighthouse works really great, but it was too big for my purposes. I needed to travel by air with it, and its bigger than my biggest suitcase! I ended up going with the "small" version, and that worked very well.

I just used the Digital Lighthouse for two product shoots and was impressed at how well the fabric diffused the harsh light from bare studio strobes. Both shoots involved high-gloss and reflective products and the tent evened the light out beautifully. The included flocks worked well but I did find they got dirty and dusty quite quickly.

Bought this because I wanted to simplify shooting small product in the studio, and so far it has delivered. Nice even light with no hard glare and works great with reflective surfaces. I've even taken it on location -- sets up and packs up in seconds. I highly recommend it.

Easy to set up. Two spots from the outside and perfect lighting for product shots, liquor bottles in my case. For the first time: No need to retouch anything in post!
If you need to do product shots, get a tent!
Cheap and nice quality.
