I never chance purchasing anything but name brand when it comes to my photography equipment. No cheap battery replacements for me. I've heard too many horror stories! Up front it may be a little more expensive, but I have never been disappointed with its performance. My previous Olympus battery is 6 years old and still stellar. I purchased a second one for those long days of 8-12 straight hours of shooting when a back-up is needed for emergencies. They keep their charge for so long and I refuse to use anything else!

At first, I thought I wasn't getting a full charge and needed to cycle the life a few times to get the most out of these. Then while on vacation, these batteries did super poorly in efficiency at how long they lasted in high heat. I know cold weather affects them badly, but I didn't understand that 105* would also be bad.
I live in San Diego, and have continued to use the 3 batteries I have, in the HLD-4 grip, on my E30 body with either my 12-60SWD or 50-200SWD lenses on it. I'm unsure if this combination with the SWD's may be forcing the batteries to drain as they have two motors in each lens for faster AF. My girlfriend has the E600 body, which uses the PS-BLS1 battery, dual kit 14-42/40-150 lenses, and uses only one battery at a time, and that combination seems to last two to three times as long as my two batteries. I am going to purchase 6 Eneloop AA rechargable batteries to put into the accessory AABH1 provided with the HLD-4 grip. I will see how long they last in comparison to two of the BLM-01 batteries.

Comments about Olympus BLM-01 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.2v 1500mAh):
This is a replacement for the "cheaper" version of this battery B&H sells. The off branded one only lasted 3 years (same amount of usage as the factory battery) Since the factory version is still working great thought buying it was a no brainer.

These are the better batteries to use for the Olympus cameras. We have tried off brand batteries and they to not have the life range as these.

Comments about Olympus BLM-01 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.2v 1500mAh):
This battery drains really fast with my E30 body and my 12-60mm or 50-200mm lenses on it. I even have the HLD-4 battery grip on. In 100+ degrees F with high humidity these batteries didn't last very long compared to regular temps/humidity. I was suprised how fast they drained in that enviornment. Not sure if this is a universal issue or just with certain types or brands of batteries.

Comments about Olympus BLM-01 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.2v 1500mAh):
Performs much better than the generic substitute. then again the other one was older, but still it performs as expected, and is worth the extra price, I think, over the non-Oly brand . . . .

This little battery has (so far) done a great job at the one thing it's designed for. Olypmus equipment is good stuff. Put two of these batteries into an external camera grip accessory and you've got days of shooting at your fingertips. Great for the $.

Comments about Olympus BLM-01 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.2v 1500mAh):
Olympus E-3 owners whose cameras are in continuous use, may need to replace their BLM-01 Lithium-ion
batteries sooner than they think. My work doesn't allow for complete drainage of each BLM-01 before re-charging for the next use, which is recommended for long lasting battery life. Currently there is no commercial battery tester that will tell a BLM-01 battery owner more than whether it is charged or empty. I have three sets of BLM-01's that charge up in ten minutes and that's how long they last with start up in the camera.-TonyC

Comments about Olympus BLM-01 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.2v 1500mAh):
When I bought my E-330 I bought an extra generic battery. Now, two years later, the original battery is about 80 percent but the generic has not worked in months. Branded Olympus batteries are the only way to go! B&H has the best price.

Comments about Olympus BLM-01 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.2v 1500mAh):
This was purchased to replace a third-party battery (from a well-known company) that failed prematurely. This is not the only third-party lithium-ion battery I've had troubles with.
Yes, OEM batteries are "overpriced". But they last. Third-party lithium-ion batteries are not a good deal.

Comments about Olympus BLM-01 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.2v 1500mAh):
I use these (2) batteries in my Olympus E-3 vertical grip. I was having issues with non Olympus batteries. Even though the Olympus BLM-01 batteries are more expensive, I feel that it is worth it for the improved camera performance & reliability. I will always buy the Olympus batteries in the future-way to go.
