Comments about Manfrotto 124 Clamp for 3085 Boom Arm:
I purchased this clamp along with the Manfrotto 2942 Mini Boom Arm with 3 lbs Counterweight. It's a sturdy and well made item as is with all Manfrotto products I've encountered so far. I like that it has openings that will allow it to attach to any boom arm or lightstand ranging from 20mm to 28mm.
This is my first clamp and as such it does take some getting used to for mounting it to a lightstand or for mounting a boom arm into it, because of the spring mechanism, but otherwise it's a very good product.
I've read other reviews about this clamp being able to support heavy light setups and though I don't have too much doubt about it (cuz this is well made), I can only testify of it's ability to steadily support my speed light setup: Nikon SB900, with an umbrella in an umbrella bracket attached to the aforementioned Manfrotto boom arm. I will soon be getting a speedlight softbox (either the 24inch lastolite ezybox or the Cheetah Qbox) to mount the same way which i'm sure this clamp will be able to support perfectly.

Its surprising that this grips a 9lbs kino flo light on a 5ft extension. The pole is bent but the clamp is locked tight!

Comments about Manfrotto 124 Clamp for 3085 Boom Arm:
This clamp is bigger and heavier than I thought. It is very well made, ver strong and will last forever. Just the quality one would expect from Manfrotto. With 4 different sizes of tubes it can work with and clear markings, this tool is made for serious pros.

Clamps securely but is extremely bulky and larger than I expected.
Still does the job though.
