I bought this one and the chroma-key blue/green version. I have found the black and white to be more useful than the chroma-key for still photo. When it pops open in a condo living room it seems HUGE. I was afraid I would never get it put away again, but it proved remarkably easy to fold up and get back into its bag after a few tries. It is easy to support from just the provided top loop, letting the bottom edge drag on the floor a bit to steady it. With a typical indoor ceiling the 7 foot height is just right. The black and white do not reflect color back into the subject. It is great for covering background clutter impossible to get out of frame in a small improvised studio. The storage bag is reasonably sturdy.
It is not very opaque, but with care the black side can photograph quite black if there is no light behind it. The cloth seems a bit thin, but the rim is strong, stiff and reinforced. I had been using two light stands and some sheets over a crossbar. This uses just one stand or can be fastened to a something like a bookshelf with a few heavy clothes pins. You cannot flare it out onto the floor to eliminate a visual floor/ceiling seam like you can with a loose muslin backdrop.

I bought this to use as a general backdrop for photography for a magazine we publish. As a designer first and foremost, and a photographer a distant second, I needed something simple, easy to use and portable. Also, we don't have a lot of storage space, so I needed something collapsible. This fits the bill for me in those areas, so I can generally get good shots off with this, all the while having it collapse and take up a minimal amount of storage space. I also like that the white side can be used as a reflector if need be.
My main complaints would be the blue edging.. why blue? It makes isolating elements in front of it harder.. make the edging black at least. Also, the material wrinkles VERY easily. Fortunately the wrinkles tend disappear with the right lighting, but it's unsightly and there have been some shots where they were noticeable. I was expecting (as I've seen on other collapsible backgrounds a material that wouldn't wrinkle.
Lastly, the white side gets dirty VERY easily, and was dirty when we received the backdrop.
For the cost, it's a good option, however.

Comments about Botero #037 Collapsible Reversible Background (5x7') (Black/White):
Used for head and shoulder portraits for on site studio work. The white comes off kind of grey due to the thin fabric showing a little black through. I can fix this in Photoshop easy enough though. The frame is weak, and needs some tweaking every time you open it or else you wind up with loose fabric. It's not quite as square as the product photo suggests.

I use the collapsible background for talking head and it works well. Easy to fold and to use. The white could have been whiter though.

Comments about Botero #037 Collapsible Reversible Background (5x7') (Black/White):
I have used the screen for portrait work while on location. It was a manageable size, but I think it would have been worth it to also buy the stand. It is a little flimsy and the wrinkles do show in the pictures (thank goodness for photoshop). BUT for [$] I am very happy with it and will get lots of use out of it!

Comments about Botero #037 Collapsible Reversible Background (5x7') (Black/White):
This is a very versatile piece of equipment. Once you have figured out how to fold it back together (google the online tutorial), it is also very convenient.
In order to set it up straight, I recommend clamping it to a light stand on either side.
The size is perfect for 3/4 portraits - even full body portraits if the model is not very tall.
The only negatives I can find are:
The background is not completely straight - due to the pop-up construction and large size. This means, to get an even background, you have to force it to be straight by clamping it to light stands or something else straight.
The white side is not very bright. The material is relatively thin, and the black fabric on the other side makes the white side look a bit dull. If you want a completely white background, you'll have to use a strong background light.
Considering the price and convenience, these are only minor complaints.

this is a pretty good inexpexive background, the only problem is that the fabric gets wrinkled and you can see the wrinkles inthe photos. you will either have to photoshop or play around with teh f stops to make sure they are not visible in the photo. it self standing, but has to be leaning against a wall. otherwise, it will flop down.

We find these Botero collapsible backgrounds so indespensable that we purchased another black/white combo to help outfit a 2nd shooter.
Given the durability and compactness, we've added several colors to our arsenal of portable backgrounds.

Comments about Botero #037 Collapsible Reversible Background (5x7') (Black/White):
This is a great concept for mobile studios but the "white" side is closer to light grey...possibly due to the black reverse side. I ordered a #000 muslin white sheet also from Botero to use as a train for this backdrop and the contrast between the two is startling. That said, I haven't tested it under studio lighting yet...though I don't think will matter.

Comments about Botero #037 Collapsible Reversible Background (5x7') (Black/White):
- good for car travel although I am not sure about plane travel - might be a bit too big!
- good value
- two colours
- lightweight
- covers a large background (good size)
- folds quite small (although I had hoped smaller)
- there are some creases which can show in photos (although can be rectified using different strength lighting etc)
- no directions and hard to fold although can find some directions online that other users have created after finding same difficulty.
