The standard Leica camera carrying strap is a perfect product. It does what is is supposed to do with comfort and it does not get in your way. Easy and very secure to mount on the camera lugs. I'll buy this strap for every camera I use, even if not a Leica. This strap does not advertise itself with large, bright eye-catching brand names. Only works with traditional camera strap lugs.

Comments about Leica Carrying Strap with Anti-Slip Pad for R & M Series Cameras (Replacement):
I did not like the strap that came with my D7000. It was a bit too short and difficult to adjust once attached to the camera. In addition, it was very stiff and got in the way whenever I tried to take a photo. I was very pleased that the Leica strap corrected all of the shortfalls of the supplied strap. It easily attached to the camera and can be adjusted at anytime. More importantly, it seemed to disappear whenever I took a photo.
I have mixed feelings about the anti-slip pad; on one hand, I think it is very well made and does its job well. On the other hand, the pad does not feel very comfortable against bare skin.
I tested how much this strap can hold safely by attaching the heaviest things I have to the camera. It has held this combo: D7000 + Grip + 70-200mm f/2.8 + Flash + 2 Batteries + 2 SD cards.
Overall, this strap is great! I will probably order another for my film camera. Cheers!

Comments about Leica Carrying Strap with Anti-Slip Pad for R & M Series Cameras (Replacement):
I bought this strap for my Nikon DSLR on Ken Rockwell's recommendation. From the description it appears that the strap is suited not just to the M series but also the R series Leica's so I was confident that the strap would be robust enough for my use. The heaviest combination I have is the D7000 with 70-300VR, around 1.5kg or 3.3 lbs. The strap works fine for me at this weight. I usually sling the strap over one shoulder so the camera hangs to one side and the load is spread over a broader area. I have not carried the camera around my neck for long periods so I can't vouch for comfort over the long run, but up to half a day was no problem for me using the neck/shoulder technique. The strap links click in easily once you get the knack for doing this. The adjustment is simple, the design is clever, but the double line of webbing between the camera and the second buckle can be annoying if they are not exactly the same length as the two sections of webbing wont sit flush against one another, but this is a very minor issue. The small rubber section provides just the right resistance to slip, but is not so sticky that you can't slide the strap around to bring the camera to your eye quickly. My favourite "feature" is the soft and flexible webbing. When I stow the camera in my travel bad it is so easy to pack away the strap as well as the rubber section is small and slips easily into one of the gaps and the webbing is so soft it falls into place readily. I don't have to fight it like I did with the old Nikon strap. Another bonus is that I don't have bright yellow letters on my strap bragging about my brand allegiance. The Leica lettering is very discreet. I would give it 5 stars if it were a little cheaper. Aside from the price this is a great strap. I looked at a variety of other cheaper straps. They were cheaper, but they were bulkier and had too many buckles and connectors. This strap is very "clean" and simple.

Comments about Leica Carrying Strap with Anti-Slip Pad for R & M Series Cameras (Replacement):
My 1" domke gripper strap is starting to wear out/chafe so I have been looking for a new strap. I use this on a Leica M plus a 50mm summilux or a 90mm elmarit. The strap feels just right for this setup. I like the padding, because the strap can then absorb some shocks as you walk. The material is not cotton so I hope it won't chafe easily. All in all a very good strap for a rangefinder setup and so far I like it more than the domke one. I won't use it on a (D)SLR though.

This strap is simply perfect for the M3. Grippy enough to stay on your shoulder, but unobtrusive enough to fall out of the way as you draw the camera up for a shot. I can't find any fault with it at all.

I had a Leica M6 in need of a new strap. I didn't want some huge junky thing. This was perfect, classy and strong just like me camera. Very easy to adjust and to connect.

Simple and discreet strap that I use on my M6. The rubber pad isn't too big and it folds up nicely when I put it into my bag.

Comments about Leica Carrying Strap with Anti-Slip Pad for R & M Series Cameras (Replacement):
I looked at dozens of straps, many of which had big, garish brand names. This is exactly what I don't want when I'm shooting available light street photography. The Leica strap is very inconspicuous. I like the design of the rubber neckpiece, which is integral with the strap, not an add on sliding piece. I also like the absence of foam rubber and flashy, conspicuous colors. I attach it to my Nikon with a pair of small steel rings which match up with the Leica strap rings. Very elegant. Sometimes you get what you pay for!

Bought a 1960 M3. It did not come with a strap. Its classic and goes well with the vintage camera.

Comments about Leica Carrying Strap with Anti-Slip Pad for R & M Series Cameras (Replacement):
I use this on my M6 which I carry daily. Bought another to put on my Nikon Fm-3A. This strap is the best design out there for lighter weight cameras. I wear it over my shoulder and have it adjusted long enough to bring my camera up and shoot at anytime. It is easy to adjust, or remove from camera, much easier than split-rings. This is the best constructed strap I have seen. I know this is a rave review, but am not a Leica fan-boy. In fact I find many of their products overrated, but this strap is spot on. Perfect example of exceptional minimalist German design.

Comments about Leica Carrying Strap with Anti-Slip Pad for R & M Series Cameras (Replacement):
This is a replacement strap that is typically ship with new Leica M cameras. I bought it for a used Leica MP camera that I recently purchased. It's a strong lightweight strap that's comfortable around the neck because of the rubber strap pad. The strap itself is a strong fabric material that can be wrapped around the wrist when hand carrying the camera. For a new Leica product is reasonably priced.

It is compact, light weighted strap. Well made and well designed in Germany. I used it on a Nikon D40 and it works really well. However, since the compact size of this strap, you should only use it with light camera.

Comments about Leica Carrying Strap with Anti-Slip Pad for R & M Series Cameras (Replacement):
I've tried a few "fancy" designs: genuine leathers and whatnot and while they look good they are not nearly as practical as this strap.
It doesn't slip from your hand or your shoulder.
Very lightweight and soft.
Easy to wrap around your wrist.

Comments about Leica Carrying Strap with Anti-Slip Pad for R & M Series Cameras (Replacement):
Unless you are really committed to the Leica logo you should steer clear of this product. One came with my Leica M6, and this strap would not stay on my shoulder, it kept slipping. Then the camera fell, in it's leather case, and the shock locked the lens. Great lens. Fixed for free by the "great" Leica service, but, I replaced the strap immediately. There are better straps for the same price.

Comments about Leica Carrying Strap with Anti-Slip Pad for R & M Series Cameras (Replacement):
Probably the best strap there is for medium and smaller sized cameras (Leica M's, most film SLRs, smaller digital SLRs like Olympus, Panasonic G). Slim and flexible strap has a gripping pad for your shoulder, but can still be wrapped around your hand for security and stability.
Attachment to camera is clever, simple, secure, and incorporates padding to prevent scratches.
Like everything from Leica, it seems a bit overpriced, but there's no competition.

Perhaps in overzealousness, or maybe because I got the runt of the litter, the original strap which came with the camera broke in its plastic part. If this one breaks in its plastic part(s), I am gonna have words with somebody. Accept no substitutes.

This Leica standard camera strap is a little masterpiece of German engineering. Super-easy, no-fumble attachment and length adjustment. Strong, yet very flexible - doesn't get in your way when you pick up your camera, but simply gracefully drapes away.
