The AKG C568 is a short shotgun microphone designed for camera mounting and handheld operation. The microphone yields a hypercardioid polar pattern below 500Hz. Above 500Hz, the microphone increases directivity, eliminating signal at the off-axis sections of the capsule. The condenser element requires 9V to 52V phantom power and features a wide frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz. A low-cut filter switch eliminates hum and noise at 120Hz. The short design allows the C568 to be mounted on a camera without obstructing the image. The C568 includes a foam windscreen and stand adapter.

Comments about AKG C568 Short Shotgun Microphone:

I use this mic on-camera as a shotgun as well as site recording using a boom or stand. It is very directional, very sensitive but with a wonderful low end that surprises me each time I use it.

I once recorded a chamber quartet at a wedding near a waterfall. You could hear the bass of the cello but barely the waterfall. Excellent for recording voices clearly amidst the clatter of a large party especially "shout-out" during live music.

Designed for quality boom recording apps, the C568 will unfortunately catch every hand movement noise on camera. Be sure to use the low cut filter if hand holding your camera or else you will be doing post-production noise reduction.

Comments about AKG C568 Short Shotgun Microphone:

I've used these mics to record anything from loud rock concerts to quiet trickling streams and they have never let me down. They're super directional and as long as you have a good mixer/preamp you will be happy with these. The AKG coloration is much nicer to my ears than even that of the $expensive Schoeps mics.

Comments about AKG C568 Short Shotgun Microphone:

This mic has proven to be a invaluable asset as a on camera and studio microphone and has consistently given me great results under the most unfavorable conditions.

A little fussy in setting levels under extremely high SPL conditions.
