The EMX-1 from Korg is a high-quality desktop music production station ideal for DJs, musicians, and producers. At the heart of the system is an advanced MMT synthesis engine that provides multiple drum, synth, and accent parts, as well as oscillator algorithms and analog synthesis models. A large library of PCM files includes hundreds of sounds for use right out of the box. The EMX-1 can also accept signals from external sound sources and manipulate them to meet your needs.
To achieve a classic warmth and sound, two vacuum tubes are built into the unit. A tube gain knob allows you to adjust the level of output that passes through the tubes to achieve a distinct sound. Three stereo effect processors are also built in, each with 16 different types of effects so you can fully customize your sound.
For real-time interfacing, a ribbon controller and slider sit conveniently on top of the unit, allowing you to easily access the powerful arpeggiator feature, enter pattern data, select a scale type, trigger notes, or change note resolution. The EMX-1 also has versatile sequencing functions, including motion sequencing, which records knob adjustments in real-time and plays them back accordingly. 14 part keys and 16 step keys on the front panel let you make real-time or step recordings easily.
