I recently return to B&W film and decided to use coklin filters instead of the expensive glass filters. I found they are light ,clear and very easy to use. All you need is the right size lens adapter for your various lens diameter and a filter holder and you are go to good. B&H has extensive stock of Cokin filters and assorted attachments and the price is right.

No complaints at all. Shooting monochrome in my 5DII with these filters and processing them in Lightroom or Nik Silver EFex results in very nice B&W photos. My philosophy is "get it right int he camera" and using these filters is better IMO than digital filters.

Terrific combination: this kit includes the basics of a P-system filter kit. All you need (for B&W) is a ring to mount it.
The colors are good and seem to be consistent with other filters on the market, the filter holder is quite usable (albeit a bit flimsy). Overall, I am very happy with the Cokin system.

I made a mistake and accidentally ordered this filter kit (you should always check what you ordered before checking out). I didn't open it up so I cannot attest for the quality but I have other cokin products and they are all very good quality.
The reason why I returned it (aside from it being a mistake) was because b/w filters are not needed on digital cameras since they record color. You get the same (and better) results by post processing your color photos in photoshop or your camera's software.
If you shoot digital, this kit will not help you but if you shoot film this is a solution for you.

This kit is awesome. The only thing I wish I did differently is that I wish I would've actually read the info on it more because I didn't realize until I got the kit in the mail that it doesn't come with adapter ring for your camera. Whoops! But for real, the product is awesome.

This set contains the basic collection of colored filters for B&W photographers, as well as a filter holder. The P series works with lenses up-to 82mm with the appropriate adapter ring. This is excellent if you have a collection of lenses of various diameters and do not want to have separate screw-on filters for each lens. The Cokin system is very convenient and highly recommended.

I never shoot black and white film without a filter. When I stepped up to medium format this year, obtaining filters for my Pentax 645nii was a priority. The Cokin P filters are large enough to hand hold in front of my 35mm lenses and my Twin Lens cameras as well. This filter combo pack is a bargain and a must to improve your b&w photos.
