The Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging MBAG80P 31.5" Padded Tripod Bag (Black) is a padded ballisitic nylon bag designed to carry Bogen/Manfrotto tripods with head up to 31" long. Thermoform padding holds the tripod in place and protects it, especially the head, during transport. It also serves a double purpose by protecting you from the tripod's hard edges when carrying it by your side. The zipper extends down the length of the bag, but also fully opens the top end of the bag. The end opening allows for faster "quiver" style extraction and insertion of the tripod.
The bag is tapered to follow the shape of the tripod and head. The tripod legs fit comfortably in the narrower end and extra space is allowed for the larger volume of the head at the wider end. This also means it is easier to put the tripod and head in the bag, even if the head levers and knobs are fitted and jut out slightly. The bag includes a shoulder strap and end handle providing two methods for carrying the tripod.
This bag replaces the 3448, 055/144PBAG, 601PBAG and 602PBAG tripod bags.

I bought this for shipping to the UK, thanks to the very comprehensive sizing data in the Manfrotto catalog I was able to select this as the correct-sized padded bag to fit my Mnfrotto 055 Pro tripod fitted with a 410 compact geared head -- I wanted this to keep the tripod stored in a cupboard (closet) and it would need to take some knocks, so I chose the padded version.
This has a semi-rigid end padding that protects the head, and the whole bag is a very snug fit. However only by tilting the head down could the bag zipper be closed fully and the padded end was a tight fit over the head. I was slightly worried the zipper would be strained by the effort, but the bag has a quality finish and turns out to be the perfect size and shape, and is a worthy investment.
This bag would probably be too tight to fit a larger head though.

My 055CXPRO3 fits just great, even with the 488RC4 head. It is a great investment. Would like some exterior pockets, as has been mentioned by others, but works well just the same. There is plently of room inside and I suspect I'll be purchasing a monopod soon which will fit just fine.

If you are looking for a great tripod bag this Manfrotto bag should be on top of your list. Just one comment - a pocket would be nice.

I purchased this bag to use on an upcoming trip to Utah where we will be shooting in low light conditions and will have to hike to the areas where we will be working. This bag is going to be perfect for the job. It has more than enough padding to protect both the tripod and the ball head. It also has a nice adjustable shoulder strap.

This bag is perfect for transportation of both my Manfrotto 190cf and monopod. I can store both and that's with my 322 ballhead mounted in this bag. The padding and overall construction/materials far exceed what I was expecting. Great bag!

I use this bag to hold my companies carbon fiber manfrotto tripod. I wanted to make sure it was protected from being banged around in the trunk of a car when I take it on the road. It works well, is nicely padded and light. It has a shoulder strap and a hand grab at the top. I kind of wish it had one on the side too but its not a big deal.

I use it for my manfrotto 190XPROB tripod and 322RC2 Head, I don´t have to take off the head, so is very convenient for this equipment, also it has space for a monopod with 3229 head. Well padded, profesional look. Great product.

I purchased this bag to carry my B&H purchased Manfrotto 055XV Tripod with 701RC2 head. This bag does the job with no problems. It is well padded, plenty of internal space, and comfortable to carry with the attached strap. It would have been nice if the strap was detachable, but that isn't a major issue. Very pleased with this purchase.

Very happy with the purchase. Fits my 055MF4 tripod with the 488RC4 head attached and there's plenty of room for a monopod. Shoulder strap works nicely also.

This bag is one of the nicest I have ever purchased. High quality construction. Excellent padding. Remarkable access. Worth every penny.
Protects the tripod and is made of heavy material.

I bought this bag for my Manfrotto 745XB tripod with 501HDV head and I'm extremely pleased. The padding is a real plus. It's made lugging around the tripod so much easier. I definitely suggest the padded version over the unpadded.
One small quibble--the description on the website says "Inner Pocket holds Accessories." I can't find an inner pocket but doubt I'd use it for accessories anyway.

This is a great bag and really eases the burden of carrying your tripod. The padding adds extra security to your valuable equipment in the case of any bangs or bumps. I'd defintely recommend this bag, but be sure it fits your tripod and ballhead before you make the purchase. My Manfrotto 055MF4 with 322RC2 ballhead fit nicely in this, but I probably could afford another inch of space.

This is a great bag. It is very well made & has a handy design with sort of a zip out bottom. I had admired a friends, so I bought one for myself from B&H (at a great price). It stores my tripod & head perfectly, is handy to use, protects it in travel, & has room for a bounce umbrella as well.
