AJA Io LA External Video Capture Device - 10-bit Analog Uncompressed I/O Breakout Box for Apple Final Cut Pro - Component and Composite Video, 24-bit Multi-Channel Audio
The Io LA from AJA Video Systems is an analog breakout box, co-developed with Apple Computers to integrate with Final Cut Pro. This external device connects to your Mac via a single FireWire cable and allows capture through composite, S-video or component YPbPr/RGB (NTSC/PAL) giving you the highest quality 10-bit video available on all analog inputs and outputs. The Io LA also provides you with up to four channels of balanced and unbalanced analog audio through the provided XLR audio ports. Other features include RS-422 remote deck control, professional-quality genlock, and optional expansion with the Io LD in a rackmount configuration.
- Multiple Simultaneous Outputs
- All outputs are active at all times, allowing multiple simultaneous monitoring and recording connections. You can monitor your audio or video output through any combination of devices, simultaneously.

- You can maintain your video's quality and integrity by using the IoLA to eliminate compression issues. Perform repeated high-quality video transfers and never experience a quality loss due to compression.
- XLR Breakout Cable
- Four channels of balanced input/output analog audio are available through the included breakout cable.
- RS-422 Control
- With this advanced breakout box, you can remotely control video decks through the computer via 9-pin D control cable.
- Easily Expandable
- Add the optional Io LD, and you have SDI capturing capability for a full professional video capture suite right on your desktop.

- This versatile breakout box works with both NTSC and PAL standards.

Once I figured out the settings, the AJA Io LA enabled my Mac Pro to pull in my analog video without any problems. I even save tape by recording directly to the Mac in my studio produced football coaches show. This saves not only tape, but more importantly time.
