I've used this cable to capture video image from DV camera to my Mac Pro and it gets the job done. Eventually I will go tapeless, but this setup works well, and I never had any problems. Even after going tapeless, Belkin cables, in my opinion are great to have on hand for backup. Having different length will also give you flexibility. It did for me.
