Comments about Sunpak Quick Release Plate for Ultra 757:
I bought the Quick Release Plate as a replacement for one that was lost for the Ultra 757. The plate is OK, metal is much better. The same applies for the tripod. I'll never by a medium priced tripod again.
The basic tripod stand is OK, its stable and opens and closes well. The heads are another story and will find sticky spots, the plastic will distort, pan is poor,,, on and on.
If you just need a support for home stuff, all should be well. If you want anything up from home movies spend the money on a better tripod and plates.

Comments about Sunpak Quick Release Plate for Ultra 757:
I lost my last plate and it urks me to buy this.
This is an over priced piece of plastic for a cheap and fragile tripod. It can attach to anything from a small HD cam to a DSLR, so it is somewhat versatile.
The bond is fairly tight, but the screw components are wobbly. I give this thing about a year of regular use before it breaks on me.

I'm getting a 2nd camera body so it was time for another quick release! I already have one on my Canon 50D and Canon 100-400mm lens to let me quickly mount and unmount my camera to the tripod. This plate along with the associated tripod makes for a very stable platform for shooting.

I use these on my Sunpak Pro 7500 tri pod they fit very well even though they are not listed as such, a little research is required.
They are good and solid when locked in the head, and hold my 2 1/4 slr firmly.

It is a fit for a Quantaray 9500QSX tripod. My orignal plate got lost when TSA was doing a baggage check. (wonder what they need it for?) It lets me use a lighter set of stick that give me good elevation as needed
