The Sony LC-PD170TH Thermodyne Shipping Case is a rugged ATA certified carrying and shipping case with a custom foam interior for complete protection for the camera, cables, batteries, charger, and wide angle adapter. It is made by Thermodyne and designed specifically for the Sony DSR-PD170 Camcorder. It has quality weather-resistant, gasket sealed construction and spring loaded handle and latches. The case is lockable for shipping and conforms to airline carry-on regulations.
This is a great value for an ATA certified carrying case. While designed to fit a Sony DSR-PD170 camcorder kit, the case can be used with slight modifications to the foam to fit other similar size camcorders.
The case is made in the USA and comes with a full 5 year, factory-backed Thermodyne warranty.

Excellent protection for your camera. you could use it for shipping on an airplane and not worry. Although the foam fit is advertised for fitting the case It would also fit a longer camera but I think the fit is tight enough not to be joustled around. I'm happy and love the twisty locking mechanism that would take a combo lock.
