These units work fine. We've had 14 units for years now. I knew the users would never unplug the chargers when the batteries were charged, so it was a no-brainer to pay the extra to get the auto-shut off version. About the review with the fire: Probably caused by a short circuit inside the output RCA connector. I found the factory didn't do a complete job of strain relief and isolation inside the RCA connector. Easy to fix (if you know what you're doing) with a soldering iron, needle-nose pliers, and some heat-shrink tubing.

I bought this together with the X672 battery. I used it once. After 30mins smoke was coming out of the little box that shuts off the adapter when the battery is fully charged, it started to melt , then went on fire.
I was shocked and glad to be still in the room. Else probably my house would have been on fire....
So, no i won't recommend it at all.
Luckily i still have the original, normal charger, which works fine.

This is he best accesory you can get for your bescor light. It charges it up until it is completely full. With the regular charger you could risk overcharging and messing up your battery and/or light.
Buy this item if you are planning on getting a mx-601/ mx-600 light.
