Comments about Speedotron DS-1 Digital Slave Trigger, Hot Shoe:

I use this product for close up photography, and to fire small kicker lights in the studio. Very practical and very functional.
The "U" of the hot shoe mount shoe be slightly smaller so that the flash won't slide off of it too easily.

Comments about Speedotron DS-1 Digital Slave Trigger, Hot Shoe:

I just put this trigger to a real test. I bought four triggers for industrial location shooting, two in a soft box and two on free standing lightstands with an on camera flash to trigger them. After three and a half days of shooting in a hot, dirty warehouse, the only problem I had was my batteries over heating! Worth every penny!

Comments about Speedotron DS-1 Digital Slave Trigger, Hot Shoe:

I bought this to use as a fill light and/or background light, depending on the shoot requirements, since my Canon 430 EX overlaps the sensor on some of the slave triggers I already have. After testing under a few different conditions, I have decided to return it, it simply does not work. It would not even fire with my main light pointed directly at it a mere 4 feet away in a dark basement. Sure I could have gotten a bad one, but overall it seems like it just doesn't work, and based on some other reviews, it's probably not as useful as I was hoping it would be.

Comments about Speedotron DS-1 Digital Slave Trigger, Hot Shoe:

personally i hate mine. they worked ok for about the first 100 fires. after that they would fire maybe 2 times out of every 6 shots. and they fall apart easily.

Comments about Speedotron DS-1 Digital Slave Trigger, Hot Shoe:

The sensor needs to be a little more sensitive. In trying to highlight the background by placing light behind model, it would sometimes not fire off if it was hidden too much from the triggering flash. I'm satisfied with it because it lets me use my old flash units as a remote flash. It will serve my needs until I decide on a semi-pro studio light kit.

works as advertized. I have gotten a few false triggers using my K20D when it uses the flash to help with auto focusing.
