Comments about Sony VCL-M3358 58mm Close Up Lens:

Amazing picture quality. I use it to take a picture of a flower. Not only the picture is clear, the flower is SUPER detailed. I was suprise of what this lens is capable. Also, the price is a bargain for this quality. HIGHLY recommended.

Great for taking closeup photos of flowers.
Fit into Canon dSLR very well.
It would be better if it had more power of magnification, of course the price will jump a big time.

Bought this closeup lens for my new Canon T1i. It works very well for taking closeup pictures of flowers and plants. The quality of the product seems to be very good.

I have used them singly and stacked for insect and flower macro photography. The are among the best on the market and by far the best for the price.

I bought this for my Sony DSC-F828 still camera and it really helps out on the telephoto end of the zoom when shooting insects and the like. Glass is a bit heavy and may tax some auto-focus systems (not a problem on this camera).

Extends the macro range on my Sony DSC-H2 without adding f-stops. And I can stack it with Sony's 1758 TC for a little more working range. Excellent optical quality.

Comments about Sony VCL-M3358 58mm Close Up Lens:

I currently photograph for my own pleasure and use my Sony Cybershot DSC-H1. Eventually I would like to be skilled enough to sell my art, but in the meantime I enjoy learning, via experience, the joy, frustrations, and techniques of photography. With the close up lens I am able to capture the details--the elements--of nature. The lens obviously cannot provide the close-ups as provided by the professional cameras, but for amateur photographers and artists, it performs remarkably well. To capture mobile nature I stack my telescopic lens on top of my close up lens as encroaching upon the subject(s) "comfort zone" tends to scare it off. I still have not had the funds to purchase one, but unless you have natural, good lighting, a macro ring light would be of benefit as the camera and photographer can cast a shadow on the subject and sometimes the photographs can appear washed out. Otherwise, I love it!!
