The Next Generation Power Packs offer the familiar simple controls that have been available from Lumedyne for over thirty years. Enhanced manufacturing techniques allow Lumedyne to offer greater reliability and accurate 7 light Battery power level indications. In addition, a 25 w/s setting is available on this 200 w/s Power Pack. This is a full F-stop lower than the Classic predecessors, the #065X/Z Packs.
Also featured is an extra fast recycling time -- 1.3 seconds @ 200 w/s and .2 second @ 25 w/s. Also, flash duration has been shortened for those photographers who shoot with leaf-shutter cameras in bright ambient light. These features make this pack suitable for most sports events, and fashion runway photography.
Note: Not compatible with boosters or speed modules.
Note: This pack cannot be used with the Mini Battery, and the usual number of flashes per charge of any Lumedyne battery used with this pack will be diminished by 30%.

Comments about Lumedyne 200 Watt Second Action Power Pack:
The "Action Pack" is everything they say it is. I shoot motor sports and this thing will freeze the wheels at night with plenty of light to spare while shooting @ 100ws. Couple that with the fast recycle times and it's a win win!

Comments about Lumedyne 200 Watt Second Action Power Pack:
I shoot a lot of high speed action so I purchased the 200ws Lumedyne Action Pack specifically for the flash duration of 1/3000th and because I could get an aperture of f5.6-f8.5 (I usually shoot with Fuji Velvia and Provia 100). I also shoot with the Lumedyne 400ws Action Pack in some situations and I can usually over power the sun! Although there are other options out there, I needed something light-weight and portable enough to fit into a backpack style camera bag. The relatively small size, light weight, high power, and fast flash durations makes the Action Pack a great tool for any action photographer who is mobile. My only major complaints are the lack of power settings (only three stops) and the units aren't built that well. I honestly treat my gear very well... I have had the 400ws model for about two years and I have to send it back for repairs at least twice a year (all of my associates who use them have the same repair record)—thankfully Denise in the repair dept is really accomodating. Overall, they are way lighter and cheaper than the car battery style strobes and they get me results I'm happy with—even with the repair track record.
