I like charging my camera batteries separate from my camera. This charger is small and travels well. It charges batteries quickly. Just a little FYI if you are going on a cruise. According to the directions the charger must be plugged in to the wall outlet in a specific direction. I am assuming so the battery sets firmly on the connection. The outlets on the cruise did not allow this because there was not enough space between the outlet and the counter. The charger was longer than the space. I plugged the charger in upside down. The battery stayed in place and indicated it was charging. I just rolled up a small towel and placed it in the space between the battery and the counter just to make sure the battery did not fall out. It charged the battery with no problems. Other than that small incident, I think this is a great buy.

Does the job. But I was very disapointed with sony skimping out on the charge indication. No LED indication for charge almost complete and then you have to leave it another hour or so for a full charge. This is so outdated. A charger today should have an indication for stages of charging. There should not be guess wrok for a charger. Havign said that I like the size and other features. Nice and compact.

Comments about Sony BC-TRP InfoLithium H and P Series Portable Battery Charger:
Bought this for use with my new Sony Handycam. Although the unit came with the cord charger, I plan to use this as the primary battery charger. Its a great, small unit with portability in mind. The plug folds into the charger, so the prongs aren't sticking out when not in use. Very handy for tight storage compartments. The LED charge indicator shows yellow when charging. Only gripe, it should show green when fully charged. Instead, it turns off. Not the end of the world, but if I had to have one negative, this would be it.
Would I buy it again? All day long. Great product!

Recommend charging your batteries independent of your camera - reduces heat and wear/tear on camera (in my humble opinion)...
