Lightware Z600 Long lens 600 Case
The Lightware Z600 Long lens 600 Case (Black) is designed to carry a Nikon, Canon or other 500mm or 600mm f/4.0 lens. The case is made from ballistics nylon with fabric covered closed-cell foam, and the case is water-resistant. The zippered flip lid has a detachable interior zippered "Trap Pack" pocket to hold an SLR camera body, film, or accessories. The "Trap Pack" can be removed and there is enough room to place the lens with an SLR camera body attached into the case. There is a quick-release Fastex buckle that allows the lid to be closed without having to zip it up. There are adjustable exterior straps to hold a monopod and exterior pockets on three sides for press passes, pens and pencils, important papers, or optional detachable "Z" pockets. The lens case is carried by a cushioned handle and an attached, adjustable shoulder strap.

I bought this case to transport my Canon 800mm IS as hand baggage around the world. My lens complete with lenscoat cover and travel coat fits perfectly even with the original foot on the lens without causing any peeling back of the covers. When carrying the case with lens in it, it is functional and light, (given that this is a heavy lens),and the square shape is very advantageous when outting in overhead bins or carying on top of a wheelie bag, (tip but the wheelie bags with 4 wheels then roll rather than drag its much better).
My one slight moan is the trap pack is not big enough for a 1 series body but is useful for a bunch of other stuff and I have not been brave enough yet to transport my gear with the body attached to the lens with the trap pack removed
Overall this is for me a perfect solution to fly with my super telephoto and I heartily reccomend this product.

Wish it had a backpack strap type addition.

Product is great and meets what I expected. Only concern is space, I put a Lens Coat on the lens and it tends to roll off when pulling the lens from the case. Had the same problem with the 300 but I bought a case for the 400 and it works great. I wish the case was just a little larger.
