When the 12 x 12" softbox (QF68) is attached to any model Qflash by removing the standard reflector and locking the softbox into its place, a bigger, softer light source for close-up portraiture is created.
With the softbox connected, this combination can be mounted to a camera bracket or fastened to an umbrella bracket for placement on a light stand.

I found the attachment a nice, quick use softbox. I have used it at a wedding reception and with a few other wedding photos and found it a lot easier to manage with the Quantum flash than other products. The only complaint I have is that when you need to assemble it quickly, it is hard to do as the velcro it uses to hold the white diffuser in place really does not want to be shifted. Plus, you have to be careful as 12 x 12 is a really small softbox.

As this was made for the Qflash, it fits terrific. Without the diffusion material, I loved the quality of light, but the diffusion is a bit too much and you really need to pump up the unit when the softbox is closed. Overall, it can add variety to your lighting, but you will need to work with the product a bit.

Comments about Quantum Instruments Softbox for Q-Flash Heads:
This is a very interesting design that seems to 'borrow parts' from several other items to come up with a functional, good quality little lightbox. It's nice in that it folds up into a cylindrical bag about 14" long and 2" diameter and yet unfolds into a fairly rigid box when open. It does seem fairly fragile when folded so don't put it at the bottom of your lighting bags. Results are good, a nice diffuse 12" square light source.
Nice for Macro Fill work!

I use it for outdoor portraits. It is small enough to soften the light and not catch the wind.

This little softbox is a great addition to my Quantum system. It assembles with ease, mounts right around the bulb, and in ready in seconds when I need a little softer light on my subject. The 12x12 size is just right for the on location senior portraits I do. Folded it fits right into light light bag with the Quantum.

Comments about Quantum Instruments Softbox for Q-Flash Heads:
I am a semi-professional, more interested in fine art that commercial photography; and since I already had a complete Qflash TRIO system for my Canon 5d, Mk. II, I thought why not try the soft box? Well, it's great, perfect for portraiture and for certain types of closeup and perhaps even macro photography. Just another reason why the Qflash is the best "portable" system out there, if you can manage all the cables and shoulder straps. A good off camera bracket helps.

Comments about Quantum Instruments Softbox for Q-Flash Heads:
I use it on a stand & on camera, it gives such a soft blanket of light, it evens textures as far as skin tones & harsh contrasts. I use Gary fongs, this is a step above, my shots look more studio like. As far as weddings, most effective during formals within 10 feet, if you have a seperate light guy peel open to reveil silver lining have assistant hold directly over head for an amazing hair light as well as eliminate back shadows. Summed up the power of direct light with out the cheap quality of direct light

Comments about Quantum Instruments Softbox for Q-Flash Heads:
This works great. I prefer natural light photography but when I have to use a flash, this softbox really makes the difference for me. it adds that perfect catch light rather than a round bulb look just leaving the flash head bare. It's compact, easy to use and easy to install on the flash. Love this item. Where my flash goes, this goes with it.

Easy to assemble and easy to use. Hot spot eliminator is AWESOME. I've gotten some really great images using this softbox. When I opened it I thought I didn't get my money's worth but after my first use, I was blown away. Besides the Quantum flash itself, one of the best investments I've made.
