I used this to mount me Canon 60D to the hood of my friend's car to shoot a music video. I was a little nervous putting my camera out there, but the mount did it's job. It was easy to secure to the car, and easy to adjust the camera mount. It took some strength to get it off the car, which is a good thing.

I own the Sticky Pod Original. I tried to use my Canon XH-A1 with this device however when mounted to the hood of the car the footage is very shaky. The pod's knuckle cannot hold the XHA1's weight. It just buckles. Granted Stick Pod does say for larger cameras to buy their Pro Line for $600+. I have not tried this device with a smaller camera. I am sure the footage would turn out much better.
It is a great product but if you are using a large camera I would think twice or get the Pro version.

Very versatile and fun to use. I'm constantly trying to think of new ways and places to use this little gadget. Very stable and reliable. Solid. And all the parts are interchangeable so you can configure it in different ways.
I think it should come with more than one lanyard, however, just for safety's sake. I know you can buy another separately, but I really think anyone who has a camcorder that's worth more than a thousand dollars would appreciate two lanyards. I would pay extra for that.

Being an Independent Filmmaker, price is always an issue. There are other vehicle mounts out there, however they are in a completely different price catagory. I found the sticky pod a great hood mount, I used it as a "hostess tray" type of mount, and also used it inside the vehicle. Never did it show any signs of coming loose and did a wonderful job. My only regret, is that when I get the funds, I want to order the "Sticky Pod" 'Director' version, as it looks even more flexible. Definitely is a great addition to my equipment list.
